Scammer , recaster warning : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

That's about an hour and a half drive away from me.
I have half a mind to go beat the ****** out of him for you guys, but karma will do him right soon enough. It's gonna hit him hard.

Don't waste your time, he will just find someone else to fight his fight for him. Never met a bigger coward. No point in getting your hands full of cocaine and herpes. Let's stick to the issue at hand: He's a thief.

Star Fortress has been hitting the Face book prop/costume groups hard. Try'n to join as many as he can. Saw he got denied by a few. Keeps attacking Art and the RPF in some of his posts of his fb page. Read the BS that spews from his child porn, child rape, recasting mouth. Frack Star Fortress. This guy sickens me, sad to see so many 501st and other costumers being his "friend"

I love how he claims that someone INSIDE eBay set him up with fake sales to ruin him. Laughable at best. Some of his posts are reminiscent of 'Jim'. I don't see how he can say that Art is anything but a decent fellow. Sorry that the RPF has standards and guidelines like DON'T STEAL OTHERS WORK. I don't think I've ever seen someone here claiming they own or are selling Star Fortress items as their own.

Have any of you tried prosecuting David...aka Jim Logan? I'm waiting on an order to be filled now and he has promised to deliver by my Feb 10 deadline. After hearing your complaints I'm now wondering if he will follow through. What he doesn't know is that I'm a former K9 officer and still have many friends in the force and lawyer friends as well. I will take him to court, regardless of cost to me, I have lots of extra money and time on my hands to follow through and get this guy if he is a scam artist. It's a matter of principal. Already been talking with my friends. They have an address to serve the papers to if things go wrong. I will keep you updated on how things go.

Drayo,
Sir,I salute you for your determination and principals.
Due to the fact that David aka "jim logan" does monitor this thread,
some people who posted the problem of not receiving their orders, have finally received the items.
So, it is still possible that you will still receive your order.
I think the lack of prosecution is the dollar amount (typically $500 - $2000ish) and the out of state court issue.
The cost of a lawyer and the legal complexcation of an out of state fraud claim is usually more than most people can handle.
Hopefully, you will receive your items.

You know what's funny? I was talking to a cosplayer recently who was inquiring about ordering some suits, while a bunch of us were doing lunch, and his page was mentioned by her, and, like, three people almost literally jumped out of their seats shouting, "NO!"

Sadly I was not one of them, as I didn't get a chance to respond, but just found it HILARIOUS! Two of the three never got their body suits from him, way back when he was still in Florida apparently.

I wonder if the state would extradite him to the victim state..

Doubtful, the state would go through that effort.
But, if he was ever in your state / area, you could potentially serve him court papers for small claims court.

Some additional info from Suing Out-of-State Defendants in Small Claims Court | Nolo.com

"The basic rule is that state courts–including small claims courts–only have the power (lawyers call this jurisdiction) to hear cases involving individuals who live in or are present in the state. If you want to sue someone who lives in another state and doesn't travel to your state, you will have to sue in the state where the person lives, not in the state where you live. Often you can file papers by mail, but normally you'll need to show up in person on court day. (Some states allow people on active duty in the military and occasionally others to present their case entirely in writing.)

There are, however, circumstances under which you can use your state's small claims court to sue an out-of-state resident:

Out-of-state residents can successfully be sued in-state if you manage to serve them with court papers while they're physically within your state's borders and if the dispute arose in your state. For example, you live in Florida and a nonresident injures you or damages your property while he or she is in Florida, or a contract with a nonresident was negotiated, performed, or violated in Florida. "

Almost a year has gone by, he's still doing his thing albeit on a smaller scale and still making appearances. He's not gonna stop because he still gets customers, he doesn't care anymore about this thread, yeah he probably does still check it but he's doing so as he's booking his next appearance. I don't know if its going to have any more impact.

The only impact this thread can still hold will be through our efforts. If we continue to find what cons or shops he will be appearing at, and continue to contact the owners, providing a link to this and other threads.... Then it will be effective. If we can get him booted from more cons, and word gets around, then that is about all we can do. Just continue to spread the word... He will take care of the rest with his shoddy business practices.

Yes,
he will probably not stop until he is in jail or sued for breach of contract & $ .
But, at the core effort of this thread has always been informing people of this scammer.
I think if just 1 person , after reading this thread, did not lose money to this scammer, then the efforts has been worth it.
Like Knight666 said, the word is spreading.
So, "Keep Calm and Spread On" :D

Most people don't know, or mostly don't care, what recasting is. By time we hear about the cons he is going to, it's probably been in the works for a while, and the con reps probably don't want to take more time looking for a replacement.

The cons that he HAS been removed from, hats off to them. I'd rather have noone than have a thief.

That's the thing... This is not so much about recasting anymore.... It is about theft and stealing thousands from customers all the way back to when he resided in Florida.

Here is a little info in case any of you get scammed again. If you have a complaint about any type of Internet crime, you can file an online complaint with the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3). The IC3 is a joint project of the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C). The IC3's key functions for federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies will be (1) receiving online complaints, (2) analyzing them to identify particular schemes and general crime trends in Internet fraud, and (3) compiling and referring potential Internet fraud schemes to law enforcement. In addition to FBI and NW3C personnel, the IC3 will include agents and analysts detailed from other law enforcement agencies.

If you have a complaint about any type of consumer fraud, including any type of mass-marketing fraud, you can file a complaint through a toll-free Consumer Help Line, 1-877-FTC-HELP (1-877-382-4357) or online with the Federal Trade Commission

They do investigate all cases reported to them. If everyone who has not received their items would take the time to file a complaint, when they investigate it could lead to felony charges with a MINIMUM of 1 year in prison.
