Oh trust me, the slippery slope is always around for those trying to evade the tax man. I know exactly what that means for collateral damage to the community. If you think this case is the only one that could draw the attention of the IRS, you are mistaken and possibly in denial. Of the many reasons I don't offer my stuff for sale......this heads the list. I am not saying, don't sell your stuff here or elsewhere. I'm just saying, if you want to avoid problems, don't rely on avoiding "collateral damage" in this case. At least make sure you have the money to pay up if the Man comes calling...including interest and penalties, or better yet, declare it on your tax form and pay up as required. I DON"T NEED ANY EXCUSES as I don't have a dog in this fight.....as usual, the messenger is always attacked because ....as a movie character once proclaimed: "you can't handle the truth". I am trying to use this thread to educate the clueless and oblivious who hope, wish, believe...that if they only stay low, the IRS will NEVER find out. That is like the married guy having an affair who thinks the wife won't ever know. Just don't say I didn't try to warn everyone. Do as you like, just don't ever think you control, your own fate on that issue. Anyone know who Wesley Snipes is? Did he ever come back to the US to resume his acting career after indictment on tax evasion charges? Not sure what country he fled to following that little problem. As I said, I understand the meaning of collateral damage 100%. As you said, since you are not living here, you probably are not as well acquainted with the repercussions as I am. I don't advise anyone to play dodgeball with the IRS, eventually you will lose. At least people should include Federal income tax when they sell their props, in that price. It is just common sense to pay up at tax time rather than look over your shoulder and place your fate in the hands of the slimeball who seems to be threatening you all. I choose my own fate. Not really sure if you get the meaning of collateral damage?
-The IRS gets called on this guy - and by association the IRS has now gets to a host of u.s based prop builders that may or may not have declared their income on their radar and your excuse is well they should have paid their taxes not my problem.
Don't get me wrong I'm not based in the us and I don't sell props what I'm worried about is an escalation of the reporting to authorities that may affect the genuine prop builders of this community that provide unique products to us.
This guy may or may not do jail time but he is surely on a fast track in that direction. I don't know how many people he has scammed that live local to himself, but, at the moment, that may be the only thing keeping him from harm. Because of the wire fraud issue the FBI is the logical venue and local law enforcement could deal with him but he's probably gambling that with out of state complaining witnesses not willing to travel to testify, he is relatively safe. As much as everyone wants to avoid FBI inclusion, I believe it might be only a matter of time before an injured party gets the ball rolling. He's obviously way past simply recasting and it looks as if he's snowballing this failure to deliver goods into a true first class (although very clumsy)crime spree. By the way, some members don't want law enforcement looking at the RPF. I think some might be surprised that there are likely members and people just watching from afar who ARE law enforcement. Even my son in law, who is a Sheriff's Deputy has an interest in scifi movies, video games and comics, has heard me refer to the RPF. If you think you are operating in an insular micro alternate universe, you are not and neither is slimeboy. When he goes down, most of us may never know why or how, but I'm confident it will happen; less confident that people who lost money will ever see it again and I feel badly about that. So much of what happens here is based upon trust and that trust has been violated by this baboon and it doesn't look like it is over yet. Threats or not, this guy is operating on borrowed time.edit:
Opps, just a little too late.
jrenemtz321 :thumbsup. Just a little quicker than me.
And another of Loganprops's latest victum:
Heroes For Hire? No, Costumes For Sale
"From group: Heroes For Hire? No, Costumes For Sale!
So i know I'm not the only one who has been through this but this needs to be known about ordering from jim logan I wanted to buy a black muscle pattern dye sub not sown and Jim Logan quoted me for 200 dollars for the dye sub. so after a week i sent him the money i figured i send him a message for progress and i got no response and after a week later he messaged me about it saying "I'm already working on it" and so i gave him more time and then i asked for any progress and got no response. so i filed a paypal dispute and in minutes after he found out he responded saying about that "i already sent it out to the printer and i can't refund your money due to the fact that its a "custom print" and i won't be able to resell it so after all that i gave him more time seeing he said he would send it on December 19th and haven't got any word from him so this is just a warning to everyone on here proceed with caution when buying things from JIM LOGAN. Im sure many others here can vouch for me"
email sent / Somebody else called him out on Heroes for Hire / Costumes for sale. It got really heated. Too bad the thread was deleted by mods.
No, the post was deleted by the mods of the group.
I'm sure due to the whining by "Jim Logan".
This probably the 3rd to 4th post deleted, by the mods, regarding the behavior of "Jim Logan".
Based on the numbers of replies of similar loss of $, I'm not sure why the mods of the group continue to
allow him to stay in the group.
update:
I was informed that "jim Logan" and his ex will be featured in the next season of "Heros of Cosplay".
They will be faking it under the "couples" category, due to the fact that i was told she is his ex.
This is the contact email for the casting:
cosplay@pitmancasting.com , jr@pitmancasting.com.
face book page for pitmancasting: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Pitman-Casting/92725469873
Since this is a time sensitive matter , Dec 23rd due date.;
I would urge everyone to contact cosplay@pitmancasting.com and jr@pitmancasting.com
to express the true nature (fraud , thief, scamming, recasting) of "Jim Logan" with all his alias and the negative impact it would have on HEROS of Cosplay.
What's a "show-boarder"Oh ****, I know of this guy...is this the same guy who does a half-assed "tony stark" suit with just a power glove? If it's the same guy I'm thinking about, he comes off as kind of a jerk, and I've been told he's like this as well. When I was working as a bouncer at a local night club, he came out for halloween night. I guess the owner hired him as a show-boader or something to that affect. He was being followed by some dude with a video camera the entire night. Not those tiny cameras, but those large ones with an annoying bright ass light.
