Scammer , recaster warning : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

Re: Another recaster : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

I just wanted to say Thank You, for helping me kill the last few hours at work today. :D This has been an entertaining read.

The work by the OP is pretty inspiring...sculpting and casting...pretty dang impressive stuff.

Re: Another recaster : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

Sideswiped:lol but with these types of characters it's difficult to say if that'll make him stop his recasting games...

Re: Another recaster : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

Just a quick update:
One of my sources informed me that "Jim Logan" has been removed from
the "Comic Con: A Cosplayers Playground" cosplayer list.
This kickstarter projects follows the lives of a few Cosplayers for 1 year to record a webseries. The project organizer was informed about the concerns with "Jim Logan". And after their own inquiries and assessment, he was removed from the list.

Well, that was short lived.

"Comic Con: A Cosplayers Playground" just added "IamYourHeros" to their cosplayer list.
I guess they did not realized "IamYourHeros" is one of many alias used by "Jim Logan" :facepalm

Re: Another recaster : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

I honestly don't think half these places really care unless he makes them look bad somehow or they figure recasting is no big deal.

Re: Another recaster : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

On a completely personal note, I met him recently at a comic book convention. Seemed like a really nice guy.

I'm sure he did. Why wouldn't he be happy? He steals people's money and uses it to self promote. All con-artists are nice. They have to be.

So,
about once a week, i hear about how many people are still losing money to Loganprops and his many previous alias.
So, i starting thinking about the purpose of this thread.
When this thread was first started, it was to bring awareness to the recasting by Loganprops + alias.
But it quickly evolved into how he was scamming alot of people out of their money.
This thread, at this writing, is at 34 pages, while the recasting information only accounts to about the 1st 7 pages.
So, i thought it was time to revise the title to reflect this information.

I think that's one of the problems we are running into with this guy and his followers. They dont know/care about recasting. They don't understand how it hurts the creators and the community. They just buy whatever is cheaper and put on a costume. These people only understand their OWN money, which is why they don't care until its their OWN money stolen.

Good title change.

I actually started following him in Facebook and instagram a couple weeks ago before seeing this thread. Since then, I've kept a closer eye, and have seen a couple posts mentioning undelivered products and users threatening to call the authorities.

Doesn't he have his own eBay page now?
Why would he need hers unless he already tarnished his with a few bad sales and got negative feedback??

Something had to have happened, because "theclawman" has no feedback, or items for sale, and no sales history

Maybe because that account was called out here,
He realized his cover was blown on that account and decided to move on to another?
Or....
He realized as a new account, until he gets a certain amount of positive feedbacks, eBay will hold his funds for 21+ days until the customer receives the item and gives positive feedback. He cannot get their money and never ship the item, as eBay will hold it until the customer asks for it back.
He cannot scam money going that route. So he conned a friend to put their established account on the line. And now, he can scam all he wants and the blame will be on someone else and not him. He can play stupid and just wash his hands of the guilt by saying "that's not even my account", they used my photos to scam you. His friend is in for a hard lesson soon as to who he really is.

youcanttigatag.... RMX, remember that name? LOL, for those of you that weren't here for the show, that was the screen name of the RPF member defending Logan WAYYYY back in the first few pages of this thread. She was (unsurprisingly) banned a while ago. Fun stuff.

Youcanttigatag is his GF or ex-gf.... That is Jessica LG's instagram username.... Not sure if they are still dating or not...... I hope he doesnt screw her over... But unfortunately I can see it happening..

Re: Another recaster, and i think this time, I'm done..

About two months ago, in another recaster thread, I warned other members about the possibility of throwing the proverbial "gas on the fire" by contacting attorneys for Marvel about the re-caster's deeds. While it deals with the re-caster. it can back-fire and spread virally to other RPF entrepreneurs making unlicensed props. I was accused of supporting re-casters and even of being a sock puppet. No, I am simply someone with real life experience who knows how things often work out. I know an executive with a Marvel/Disney licensee who told me how much different Marvel will be under Disney's umbrella. Disney is way more protective of their products than Marvel was before the acquisition. They are virtual pit bulls by comparison. My advice to anyone making any Marvel items is to stay under the radar if you must produce copies of their property.....way under. Anyone who thinks that the Marvel/Disney lawyer and the D.C. lawyers don't talk about related issues is naive. I'd guess they have both been in the same room with U.S. Customs and the FBI when they deal with anti-counterfeiting strategies. Those warnings on videos are not just scare tactics and apply to all other properties as well. Collectively they have a lot of high dollar issues on their plates, so even the previously mentioned party started with a simple C&D. Ignore that and your troubles will only get worse. You would have to be a much bigger player to get hauled to court without the C&D first. If you are smart, you don't ignore those little formalities. That said, I think most folks here are relatively safe until unusual circumstances arouse undue attention. I have chosen to not offer my stuff, even when I have a mold because I don't need the money or the trouble. I may sell my scratch built Dredd helmet in the junkyard just to recover my material costs and trouble, but that is the extent to date. Make no mistake, I'm neither a moralist on the topic, nor a supporter of the creeps at the bottom of the gene pool who use your efforts to line their pockets. But also be clear that such people, like child molesters, will always be around and no matter how big a list you make of their names, like cockroaches, there will always be another bunch of easy money pigs around the corner. I agree with the Idea of not giving up selling your creation because of the lowlifes. People will usually buy the original when they are aware of it. I'll close with an ironic thought....wouldn't it be weird if someone saw a recast prop they had made on a table at a con, only to find a Marvel Licensed Article label on it? They probably haven't thought of that yet; lining their own pocket without hiring an artist to make the prop. Who could complain that the IP owner had recast them. Sorry, no disrespect meant to the suffering party...just struck me funny how weird that would be.

Re: Another recaster : latest alias Loganprops, recent alias Snikt Shop

The law goes like this: If it's income, you must pay taxes on it. Don't think he's big enough to have the IRS do anything based on a random complaint though.
You might be surprised at how quickly he gets an audit. The IRS does them randomly and a complaint will often be all it takes to make his life miserable
