Saying Goodbye to my R2, but its for a good cause

I always want an excuse to start a new R2 project, and I got contacted by Make a Wish San Francisco, they want a stationary R2D2 for a 9 year olds wish. He wants to have a Star Wars themed Bedroom. Since I didnt have the time to build him one (they contacted on short notice), I am taking this one which I keep at work at Nokia and removing the motors and donating it to them. It was chance that the bugs bunny was there today when I was on my way down to the car... Apparently Nokia had Six Flags on site doing some promotion for employees. Even though R2 is not 100% complete, I dont think it will be noticed too much to the average Layman....

Amazing gesture! I am at a loss for words at the situation but very happy to see your amazing generosity. I hope R2 brings the little guy some happiness.

Did you see his reaction when he got it?

I hope so, I enjoy the build more anyway, and if it brings some joy to a little one, even for only a short time, then its all worth it.

Make a wish is a great organization and well done for stepping up with that awesome R2 unit.

A truly humbling gesture - you're to be warmly congratulated.

There is a still a lot of good in the world and you're clear evidence of that sir.

Bravo and highest regards

That's a gorgeous piece of work, Droid. I know that would have made me really happy as a kid.

Well done!

Wonderful gesture on your part and what a beauty your R2 is, I'm sure the recipient will cherish it.
