Samwell Tarly Game of Thrones

This is my first costume build I am posting here on the RPF. Long Time lurker first build thread :cool. I am going to make a Samwell Tarly Costume. Most of the costume I already have sourced. I do need some help in identifying a part of the costume though.

I am drawing a blank on what the padded tunic is called. If anyone can enlighten me or maybe even point to a source that makes them in the larger 3 or 4xl. Thank you and I look forward to keeping you all updated.

Wasn't it referred to as "quilted armor"? Something I remember from my D&D days.

As someone who practices Medieval Martial Arts, I can say first hand that a gambeson will do the trick for you; tamplain is right. Others may call it quilted armour, but it does look like a gambeson to me.

See if you can't find a local SCA(Society for Creative Anachronisms) chapter. They'd probably be able to help you source parts as well.
