Salvage or keep going?

I've recently started working on some Space Marine armor, and have made decent progress so far. Unfortunately, I've realized tonight that I've made a fairly big mistake in that I have not been cutting the excess foam off a curved piece ie: the back of the boot for example. On the pieces I've held my patterns up to, they're about ~2 inches too large due to their curves. I wouldn't have a problem with redoing it if it was just a few pieces, but I have the foam structure of the entire bottom half already completed (boots, greaves, thighs). My big fear is if I keep going, the armor will be overly large/disproportionate.

Question is, do I go back and trim the pieces down, or do I just keep going and have a slightly larger overall armor( if that would even turn out right)?

Thanks for your input.
