Limited Run RUN CLOSED * DL-44 ESB Blaster Machined Parts Set * RUN CLOSED

I've never owned a Han blaster before. Really happy I was able to be around to get in on this run. The attention to detail and feedback everyone has been giving is nothing short of amazing.
 
I’m sure some of you are wondering where we are at in big picture.

I will try to break it down in a way that isn’t woo wordy.

MACHINED PARTS

So far I have received and binned the following machined parts: Bespin Flash Hiders / Hoth Flash Hiders / Hoth Scope Bracket Disks.

The Bespin Scope Bracket Spacers and the Hoth Scope Bracket Spacers are machined but on stand by for the anodizing shop until the Bespin Scope Bracket Disks are complete, which should be tomorrow.

Once they are machined all 3 parts will get anodized and shipped to me for binning. No scope brackets have been machined because we have to have the Scopes on hand and figured out so we can work with the Scope Feet Hole Spacing on the brackets.


BRASS PARTS

Thin Jedi took his last batch to the foundry on Tuesday, once they are done he will ship them to me for processing. I expect this to take at least 4 weeks once the shop has them.



MAUSERS

I am about to disassemble all of the Mausers so they are ready to go once I have the scopes and pistons. I’m going to drive everything to the shop to save money, discuss some machining issues and just to visit.. These shoud be run with the brass parts



THE REST OF THE STUFF

Once the scopes, pistons and Mausers are at the shop I will start working on the glass lenses, and resin parts. I will ask people to commit to the resin parts they want but I will not ask anyone to pay for them until I am ready to ship everything.

The cost is not that high and I can carry it until the ship date.


I have received the Plaques and will bin them on the next go around.


As I receive parts I will contact anyone that has a complete order and ship them if requested.

I'd prefer it if my parts were not anodized. Is that possible?

It's possible but I don't know why you would want them raw. It is more difficult to paint the because paint does not adhere to raw aluminum.


Normally I do a 3 step weathering process. I scuff the edges and remove the anodized coating, then I apply aluminum black and re-scuff them.

Then I apply paint and do the final weathering.


I'm offering so many variations of these parts that doing them in raw or anodized finish at this point would be very confusing.

There is no reason to not anodize the scope bracket spacers but I'll call the shop and see if they can pull your Bespin Scope Bracket Disk before they send the batch to the shop

Wouldn't really matter to me either way, I could always sand the finish away, but I remember seeing a photo of one of the Bespin blasters and it appeared the back side of the scope mount was raw unpainted aluminum.
 
I wish this issue came up during the discussion instead of now.

This is the first project I have done that anyone has expressed any interest in raw parts.

I called the shop and asked them to hold off on the anodizing for a day or two, but the boss was out so I don't know if the part are already at the anodize shop or not.

I'll try to get this resolved today
 
this is not a big deal to me at all, I'm fine with them anodized

I have talked to the boss and he is holding the order till Wednesday Morning.

So if you do not want any of the following parts anodized reply to the email that you should have:

Bespin Scope Bracket Disk

Any of the Scope Brackets
 
Okay I've lurked from afar for the majority of the discussions because I'm uninformed and content and excited with the general consensus. So this may be a rookie question, but I figure now would be a decent time to ask it. Are there any tools, hardware, or any other item or whatever that I may not have that I should get a hold of to complete the process of assembly once I've received all the parts?
 
I thought I'd been pretty diligent reading through this sales thread & the discussion thread but for some reason I never picked up on the fact that these parts would be anodised, sorry

I'd rather not have my scope mounts or Bespin disk anodized if possible

I've not found a particular problem painting aluminium parts before that I can remember (I think that the V2' sabers, the machined FH & crossbar from DEC's ANH cast kit, various scope mounts & knobs Ive painted were all aluminium - but I could be wrong)

unless I'm missing something regards painting raw aluminium?

I have found I had trouble trying to take anodising off to weather parts though

I'll be frank - I don't think anodizing was mentioned until recently, maybe it was assumed if it was done for the ROTJ blaster project. I haven't had a problem painting aluminum either, Dan's V2s were lathed aluminum, and I sprayed right on the bare metal. Let it sit overnight and the coating is pretty durable.

This being said, the anodizing is a pleasant surprise for me, considering how intense this project is. I'm very happy about it. Taking down the anodizing for weathering just means they need more of a beating right? :lol
 
I'm pretty sure I have mentioned the anodizing process in a variety of emails when explaining the different phases of the project.

I also remember people asking me to not anodize the flash hiders and I assured the group that it would only be applied to the scope bracket parts.


It's a mute point now. I am making the appropriate pen changes to the invoices and hopefully I will be able to keep it all straight.

BUT YOU MUST EMAIL ME IF YOU DO NOT WANT YOUR SCOPE BRACKET PARTS ANODIZED
