I received my RS Props Blast Shield helmet today and I thought I'd share a few pics of the details. It's a wonderful work of art!

I commissioned this back in July well before they started leaking images on their web page. It might well be that they had this in the works before I commissioned mine, but if mine helped at all in the development/decision to release them on a regular basis - you're welcome. :)

Here are various images showing the helmet in plan view and a few angles showing the weathering details. I really like that the details are hand-painted, like the on-screen item, and not printed stickers. The weathering details are superb.

If I have one minor criticism it's that they didn't get the detail of the right rear symbol correct - it should be different from the left rear one. It's hard to see the details on the screen-used helmet but here is an image I reprojected for them when I commissioned the helmet:

When I commissioned this I did some photogrammetry solutions from the movie to try to help with the right shape and proportions on the blast shield itself. Here's the video I sent them (you'll need the password - traininghelmet_rspropmasters):

I've seen some really bad fan reproductions out there but RS Props produced a great looking copy here I think.

The mohawk stripes are black on this one, as are most/all reproductions I've seen, but as I was studying the film I see the glints on those stripes as being due to them being gold pinstriping. It's one of those things I can't unsee now. I think the interpretation of black is due to the high contrast that creeps in after color grading and several passes through the optical printer. What say others?

I'm really happy with this helmet and it's going to look wonderful along with my training remote and lightsaber!

Fantastic! Love the images. Thanks for sharing this.

Have to agree with you on the contrast issue. Given the source material and all the steps inbetween, bound to be some detail loss.
