Aren't these polls supposed to be closed now?

Anyway, congrats to the winners! Myself, I am completely stoked to have gotten some votes, after seeing everybody else's costumes, I felt like I had showed up unprepared for class or something. lol

congrats to all the winners...i'm especially proud of the children's costumes. they do this for the fun of it and that's what it's all about...imho

a little suggestion to the mods for the next one, make it a members only vote and try to make so you can't delete your cookies to cast more than one vote for your favorite.
one of my IT guys told me i could do that, but figured it would not be fair to the others who worked on their costumes..

thanks for letting me take part in this contest

Of course, this was a test run. Good point about the cookies, but that can be checked/adjusted after the fact.
I actually held back on my Med-Eng EOD-9 suit. It it supposed to have a permanent smell of vomit/sweat/urine/feces, but I did not want to be that accurate. Of course, after 8 hours of halloween bar hopping, wouldn't you know... ;)
I would rather compete here than at a bar. Skin-to-win and favoritism always beat talent and effort at a nightclub.

He won. It is over. Move on. No reason to cry foul on an online costume contest..This isnt the Oscars.

It's lame dude. You are right it isn't the oscars it is a site based on skill and building and creating props. Defeats the whole purpose in my opinion of the contest. If you are content then fine. I just find it lacking and something wasn't right and no I did not enter the contest because my costume was and is being made by me.

hey amish not discounting your feelings about the contest, and not looking to get into a big debate with you about it but, maybe another way to see it as a learning process for future RPF contests.
The mods did the best they could and should be given"props" for doing this, nothing but respect for them.

this place is full of talented people who love this hobby. If you look at it like that maybe it won't be "lame and lacking"

you have a whole year to get your costume ready for the next one....it better not be lame...:lol i'm busitng ya chops a bit...

peace

Oh hey bud I'm far from knockin the mods they did a fantastic job.I'm not knocking the contest. Personally though if I just ran out and bought my costume I would never enter it. I just find it insulting to the people who spent there own personal time in creating there kits...yours was phenomenal and its sad that the build of costumes was not emphasized. That is the point I am trying to make. Maybe next year they should stress store bought or home made. see what I'm saying?

i totally see what your saying and maybe next year that will be a stipulation for the contest. No party city or halloween express costumes allowed...:lol

not saying that any were...

I know what you are saying, but nowhere in the rules it states that the item cant be store bought. So technically, he did win fair and square.

Also, keep in mind, maybe other contestants bought theirs at stores as well or pieced it together by buying pieces from other members

You should've entered your Rocketeer.

nah, the inaccuracy makes me squirm....maybe next year when i get closer to screen accurate, but then again I tell that to myself every year haha

your costume would be easy...wrap yourself in aluminum foil like a herseys Hugs and Kisses and strap on a bunch of rabbits...
