that's great.

My favorite joke. Bear and rabbit are crapping in the woods together. Bear looks at the rabbit and asks " do you have problems with crap sticking to your fur?'
rabbit: No
Bear: grabs rabbit and wipes his ass with him.

Maybe I should buy a bear costume and attach a rabbit to the backiside...sorry just wanted to add a laugh....

Maybe next year they should stress store bought or home made. see what I'm saying?

I agree that would be a better move for future contests. :) Looking at how intricate some of the handmade costumes are, I don't feel it's fair to put one person's craftsmanship up against another person's bank account. Which is what happens when you lump handmade and commissioned/purchased and in the same category. Given the nature of the site it would seem the point of a contest would be to reward members for their talent and skills, showcasing member-made projects. Perhaps the next contest could have a separate category to showcase the great commission work people have bought.

Agreed....Hey this was a first time thing and I hope it turns into a yearly thing. I look forward to next year and watch out :love

Just want to step in and say that the way this is being handled is a bit tacky. However, there is no doubt that this contest was a learning experience for us and we are taking away a number of lessons that will be applied to next year's contest. We are very happy for those who participated (it takes some bravery to put yourself out for criticism and critique via judging) and for those who voted. We look forward to next years costume contest, but plan to have many more contests between now and then!

I completely realize I am just the new guy, but maybe next year each entry can be scored on different criteria. Such as originality, craftsmanship, & intricacy, say giving 1-5 points for each category, for a possible total of 15 points.

I don't know how this could be done....but it might clear up a few things.
