Cassian and Jyn's jackets are almost certainly identical, as are the beach commandos... albeit in different colors. @smithjohnj, what is this vertical seam you're talking about? I think we've nailed down all the details for Cassian's jacket. We'll be soon offering a lower cost version for those on a budget, so that will work for Jyn costumers as well. Hoping to bring that jacket in at about $250 (shipped).

I would definetly be interested in a jacket if it was that price!

Hmmm... the 5229 image in that group actually shows the belt closure (or at least some stitching.) It can't possibly be real, since there has not been a single good picture of it yet, right?

So... Jyn Erso costumes are at: (or have been in the last two weeks or so)

Skwalker Ranch or LucasArts Studio (on the Presidio)
Launch Bay at Disneyland
Disney World
Gatwick Airport (international terminal w/ The Disney Store)
Uniqlo in London (this display looks a lot like the few pictures I saw from the airport -- so maybe it was moved?)

Any others?

Just bought my tickets for next weekend and picked up some 3D goggles. I think Disney's marketing department is missing the boat. I thought they should have made Rey-style goggles for TFA and I think they should have made rebel goggle for R1. I may have to make my own.

The "subway" image shows the rear view of the belt closure, but all of those images I have seen so far are poor quality. This new photo does encourage me that I did get the "look" of the belt correct if not the technology. By using the magnetic closure I needed to increase the belt thickness to "hide" the buckle. I did that by have the section of the belt coming from the front, fold back underneath itself and stitching it down. I only stitched the top and bottom edge but if I add a line of stitching to the front the look will be similar to the photo. I cut out a section from the lower, covered portion to fit half the magnetic buckle into the recess. The front then just lies and clicks into the other half of the buckle attached to the back section. Again I do not know if this is a screen accurate approach, but it makes a nice closure and I love the way it "jumps" together when the two piece get close. One change I made from my earlier tests was I did go with the newer, larger 40 mm fidlock snap buckle. The application did not need the stronger (80 pounds) holding power but then again why not, and it was still small enough to fit onto the belt. The magnets seem to be the same as the small buckle, but the large plastic frames provide a stronger mechanical connection.

The Gatwick display is quite different from the Uniqlo Oxford Street one.

The Gatwick one features 5 costumes arranged around a central cylinder that's printed with a sea backdrop. The costumes aren't enclosed - only stanchions and ropes hold back the throngs.

The Uniqlo one features 2 costumes inside an acrylic plastic cylinder with a backwall printed with the sea picture. Unfortunately the plastic causes reflections, of course.

The Jyn costumes at the two sites looks to be two versions of the same one. The Cassian ones are different - Uniqlo has the cold weather parka.

(Obvious note - when movies, especially big budget ones, are shot, there are always multiple copies of the outfits worn by primary characters. So if the costume gets wet or damaged or whatnot they can keep shooting. Also they'll make copies for stand-ins and stunt doubles.)

Thank you for that shot of the vest lining, I'm working on my lining right now and this helps so much to have before I get started!

Based on this we can see where the crimson lining starts.

And it also looks like the blouse has two vertical darts below the bust (where it was previously guessed there might be a seam on the right) which would serve to taper the blouse at the bottom to let it tuck into the pants without blousing out.

There was a bit of interview with the vest off during the last featurette on the live stream.

But totally no horizontal darts. (I thought there might be. Guess not.)

Thanks for getting those screenshots so quickly! I was excited/interested to see the twill tape/ whatever under the tube thingy on the inside there. (Which I am putting on tomorrow. Thank you procrastination!)

My view is that the inside hose greebies are like the exterior ones. Hoses in clips which are attached to webbing and the webbing attached to overlap the seam of the facing and the lining. One question I have is if the inside webbing is as wide as that on the exterior right hand side.

And one more thing!

I've known there was something hiding underneath her arm. (You can see the edge of what looks like seatbelt webbing in those first toy fair photos.)

Saved this from a Verizon twitter ad.

Vest progress! Side seams aren't sewn yet since there's lots to sew on still. This is a long torso, size 14.

I added side darts to the front pattern piece which will be hidden anyway.

The back is four layers (outer fabric, light quilting batting, thick batting, and thin cotton); that doesn't include the lining which isn't sewn in yet! The rip-stop cotton is probably too thick but the grid weave really helped me keep my topstitching lines straight.

It is a bit thick and not quite perfect, but once it's broken in a bit, it looks a lot better. Fantastic job so far!
