Rogue One: Cassian's Blaster

If anyone is interested, I have the side parts available on Shapeways.

I ordered some in the "white strong and flexible" plastic which i know has a bit of a texture to it, but will still be easier to sand down than the texture my 3D printer leaves.
This is also a full 3D print not a half print.

I also ordered them in a Metallic Plastic. I've never used this one before but it looks promising.

Obviously the ultra detail plastic would be the best but at $15 per print, I'll stick to printing them myself and putting some effort in.

I also uploaded the file to Thingiverse if anyone wants to download it for their own prints.

I finished the first blaster pistol.
Paint job is based off of the pistol in the Ultimate guide. I believe this is the version he carries around on Jedha.

Some detail shots including the barrel tip and the side parts. Since I 3D printed them I was worried they would look to rough, but after some sanding, puttying, and a paint job I think they fit in well.

I even printed a quick little stand for it. I hope to make a more elegant looking one later with an info plaque for it.

I am currently working on a second blaster pistol for a friend and a full modular blaster rifle version too.
Critiques are more than welcome. I see myself working to make or find better parts and increasing the quality. I feel like this is about 95% accurate and a decent display prop quality. There is always room for improvements and adjustments.

I think it turned out fantastic! You did a great job on that front barrel

For anyone interested in the 3D STL files for the Barrel, I put them up on Thingiverse.

And anyone with a better program / better 3D modeling skills than myself, please feel free to change the tip to be actually round with the vents instead of a 10 sided shape and re-share.

HI All, New here. Love it.
my first contribution is that I recognise the front half of the greeblies on the blaster. They are the interchangeable tip from a pop rivet gun. When you change rivet size you unscrew the tip and replace it with the right size.
Haven't found the exact make but will work on it.

The stand is pretty cool. Any chance you'll put that on Thingiverse?
