So......aside from his legs and left arm.....he can take the suit off? So he works for a police force with connections to a facility that can make high tech prothetics and rather than just give him new legs and an arm....they make a whole suit for him and turn him into a robo-trooper? I would be rather ticked off if my seargant did that to me!

I predict that when they are telling the wife about his condition, they tell her that they can help him but ONLY if she pulls the plug and kills him. That way the company gets his donated body and he can't sue them when he wakes up.

That does not change the fact that they COULD have given him prothetics. They manipulated his wife into given them what they wanted......

IF that is how this story goes.

For all we know he was conscious and voluntered to be Robo Cop.

I don't know, this seems more like The Six Million Dollar Man in a black rubber suit.
