Robocop foam suit build

For a first foam build you're knocking it out of the park, man! Nice lines, good contours, very clean. Subbed and looking forward to more. :)

So I have started the biceps using the pep files and then I gave up on them. Too many bits and pieces, so I am going to build one bicep then cut it up and use it as a template to do both biceps. It is proving harder than I thought, I will post some pics soon

IMG_2337.JPGIMG_2334.JPG1st pic is what I have so far on for the bicep. I had to extend the top part hence the extra bit in the middle and the hole will be fixed when I turn it into a template.

2nd pic includes the left thigh, still have to put on a few bits and it will be done.

I have not had a lot of time to do much to the suit lately but I did get my resin cast in the mail today. It is taken from one of the stunt suits from the original movie.

NO EXCUSES!!! Just kidding man, even I have to put my robo build on hold for now. I don't know when I'll get back to it. The weather is getting colder and the resin perimeters are getting pushed. AND I'm still in a dead sprint to finish my kids suit. I've got just over two weeks. I'll be starting my own thread shortly when I actually have time to load all the pics and write down everything I want to write.

So you've had a few weeks. Any updates or progress on your build?

I wasn't able to make my own deadline sadly. I'm only about 85-90% complete with my kids Iron Man suit. I should have it ready for comic con though.

Yes well it has been way to long since I have done anything to the suit. But I will be starting on it again this week as I want the build done by Xmas and I get to busy again. I will have the biceps finished by friday (14th) will post pics as I proceed again. I have also come up with a way to do the opening of the thigh doors, I plan to use the landing gear from remote control planes. Basically it will push the door out and pull it back in again without needing to much room in the thigh piece. I will get a design drawn up on how it work (hopefully) soon and post it for all to see.

Philthy Stache I would love to see some pics of the suit you are making for your daughter as well.

I've also got a thread up chronicling this build. But here is the best pic I have right now. I wasn't able to make it by Halloween, but it'll be ready for Emerald City Comic Con. I've actually got more done than the thread...I just need to take more pics and post them up.

Here's my Prometheus Engineer suit so far and it needs more work but I'm loving it. Need a helmet though before March.

Have to put this on the back burner sadly due to lack of time with my work. After new year I will be getting back onto it, going to dedicate one day a week to work on getting it finished. Nice work on the suit Philthy Stache, it's going to look awesome when finished.

That project was put on (possible) permanent hold. Later that Nov my wife and I separated. So I've lost all inclination to continue work on it or anything else for the time being. But I keep checking back here for updates.

One day I may finish it and continue to work on my Robocop suit and even a War Machine suit as well. But those days are far far away.

Take car man, and good luck with your build.

Well it has been a long time since I have had the chance to work on the suit due to work, but winter is coming! That means I now have some time to start working on it again. I will have some pics and vids up soon. Hope things get better for Philhty Stache, all the best mate.

Things have actually gotten better. I've managed to work things out with my wife and even though I'm not back in the house now, I will be shortly and will be able to continue my kids Iron WOman suit hopefully by Halloween this year.

Thank you for your concern.

Read the thread and love the suit build. looking to make my own!!! Have run in to a hurdle already though :facepalm The Pepakura templates for the chest, dont give the forms/templates for the right hand side (arm socket and right throax), is this a simple case of cut out two of the left side and flip it over to mirror it?

Sorry if this is a very simple question and so early on in the build LOL, but looking at 3D model, the right shoulder (arm hole) of the chest looks to be made up differently. Any help appreciated.

There is a feature in Designer that auto flips it for you, in the "Others" drop down menu there is something called invert pattern. This will flip it for you and you won't have to worry about matching up inside out. But once you flip it you will have to reset all the pieces to fit on the paper.

But it's only available in the Designer, not the Viewer program.
