RoboCop auto 9 _ identification needed

This is an actual screen capture from the 1987 movie.

TazMan2000

Thanks for the screen shot.

I have been surprised and disappointed at the lack of images of the original gun. There are plenty that claim to be of the original, but show the airsoft one.

Does anyone know who made the gun for the movie ?

The MGC version was used in all but the original film. If I recall the live fire real steel Beretta would constantly jam and need maintenance. That was done away with by using the MGC blowback cap gun.

I also recall seeing pictures of the original gun being built but its been many years. Maybe someone will chine in with a link or those photos as well as if it was Stembridge that built it or not.

I am ready to start modifying the gun and have created a couple of images that show the proposed changes. Please take a look and let me know if there are any further areas that need changes and if so, would it be possible to supply photo's etc.

I can then add them to the list.

Thanks

I took these HD caps for you (and for the rest of us), but I didn't post them all for some reason. Must have lost my train of thought.

Anyway, here you go: https://gndn.wordpress.com/2016/01/16/robocop-1987-auto-9-pistol-2/

Where the compensator meets the trigger guard needs to be tweaked a bit, I think.

Thanks for the screen grabs.

I found image 'shot0054' interesting in that the back of the rear sight appears missing.

As for where the compensator meets the trigger guard, I will have to check it out.

Thanks

A quick update, started modifications. Here is a picture so far, but there are a few things to do before this part is complete.

Just a quick update, done a little more work on the barrel etc. Going very slow and still trying to locate images of the screen used guns rather than the airsoft replicas. Will post again when I have made some progress.

Meanwhile if any one comes across any HQ images of the screen used one, please post them.

Thanks

Very slow progress but here is what I have so far. Starting to work on the handle grips and then onto paint...eventually.

Enjoy.

Someone had asked me if this was a functioning gun, but it is not. Purely a display piece.

Just thought I would mention that if anyone was wondering.

I'd like to do a stand like that for my KSC!

Nice job, that stand is awesome though. Did you make that or commission it?

Thanks for the compliment and I did make the stand. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures of it being made, but it is basically a 3/4 plywood core, wrapped with 1/8" epoxy resin coated cardboard, some body filler and then painted. The base for the 'creature from the black lagoon' was made using the same technique.

Hope that helps.

Turned out real nice. You did a great job on that!

Thanks for the reply.
