RoboCop auto 9 _ identification needed

I just purchased this bb gun, which was painted white for a photo shoot, but cannot find a manufacturers name on it. My plan is to modify it to make it as accurate as possible, but knowing who made it might help.

It fires a single shot at a time and is not electric or co2.

If anyone has any info I would appreciate it.

Thanks

The 'real' Auto 9 was built around a Beretta 93R. http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/RoboCop_(1987)#Beretta_93R_.28as_the_.22Auto_9.22.29

I also have some screencaps from the movie on my blog here: https://gndn.wordpress.com/2012/10/06/robocop-1987-auto-9-pistol/

Your base appears to be the correct model.

It's a popular gun to bootleg, which appears to be what you have. Attached are some retouched screencaps, showing a bit more detail on the compensator. Yours does need a little work to be more accurate: holes filled, Picatinny rail removed, etc. You are missing the rear sight, as well.

Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

For the rear sight, I will have to find some specs somewhere.

Thanks again.

It looks similar to one I own. A spring single shot airsoft gun. I don't remember anything specific about it....but I still have it and I think I still have the packaging. I'll check when I get home.

Is it all plastic? If it is, then it's a knockoff gun from China. I do have one. Spring action, low velocity. Not very screen accurate, but a good substitute for a display prop.

Was wondering if anyone would be willing to supply some close-up of the rear site, left right top etc. and some dimensions, so I can fabricate one myself ?

Would appreciate any assistance.

Nick

Approximate dimensions of the rear sight appear to be 65.7 x 14.7 mm, according to my crude photogrammetry. That's length and height.

There was also a add on kit made by JOATRASH FX. You may want to consider contacting him since he may have some spare rear sights. I have one of his kits, which I haven't built yet, but may start on it this weekend.

Got a few more caps. Looks like the rear sight is mostly hollow.

Thanks to Mike J. For the screen grabs and photogrammetry.

Still wondering if anyone has an accurate gun and is willing to take some images of the rear sight + dimensions ?

In storage I have an original casting. The rear sight has text inside of it ive not seen on replicas.

Here are some pics of a resin prop that I bought at a con back in the late 80's. They claimed the molds were made from an original prop (who knows) One of the most valuable sources on info on guns is the Internet Movie Firearms Database, If you have never been to this site it is amazing the amount of information that have on guns from movies and TV. Down to how some of the props were made by modifying existing firearms. Here a link to the Robocop page http://www.imfdb.org/wiki/RoboCop_(1987) one of the interesting details on this resin prop is the OCP logo on the grip. Im not sure if this was something that you saw in the movie. A lot of other replicas that i have seen do not have that little detail.
