robo3687's Master Assassin Ezio Build (Pic Heavy)

so i was actually looking at the dates of the posts, so either this was a project never finished (or not posted) or it has been moved to another thread

yeh this one kind of stalled unfortunately...money was mostly the contributing factor...

although.....the outfit from the new game is starting to grow on me....

Re: robo3687's Ezio Auditore Master Assassin Build

apologies for the double post....i have updates!

so with it being cold as all heck outside, i stayed home and got my pattern making on....

I forgot to take pictures as I was making the patterns but basically what i did was this....

1. separate the pep back into its individual sections (i broke it down into the individual panels from the hood in the game)
2. stick lots of little rolls of masking tape all over a piece
3. stretch and pull and fit the fabric (calico is what i'm using for my testing) over the piece trying to minimise any gathering
4. trace around the outside of the piece
5. remove pep and you're left with a pattern on the calico
6. trace around calico piece onto paper and do final cleanup, straghtening of lines etc
7. cut out patterns

this is where i was after all that

hoodpattern.jpg

then i just traced those onto some calico, making sure to flip them when i did the other side, and then cut it all out....

now i think i'm gunna go sit in front of the tennis and sew some of this together.....
I join to this forum for this!
:O
Amazing PEP...
you are giving the peps files of IRON MAN 2 :B
thats very generous of your part!
but... can I get the .pep files of this ezio hood???

I know how that is. These things are so difficult and expensive to make. :cry

I actually did a pep of the brotherhood version. It's odd because although the seams are different, they made the actual shape of the hood identical to the AC2 hoods.

Did you use notches or darts or something on the part of the hood that points out (at the back of the top of the head area) or did it just turn out shaped exactly the same as the in-game model?

When I patterned mine out from the Pepakura model, it was very accurate but the pointy part just wasn't right. I'm not sure if it's because I had to cut a dart into the cellophane I wrapped around the model to make it lie flat or what. I didn't actually sew a dart into mine so I'm curious how you patterned yours.

lol if there's patterns out there i'd love to see them....because i searched for a long time and there weren't any....

I do plan on releasing the patterns at some stage....but it probably won't be until everythings done, to avoid releasing something and then having it be wrong and having to make changes.....

Still today there is a serious lack of helpful plans out there for Ezio costumes. I did manage to find a few tuts on tunics, but nothing even close to a downloadable/printable pattern.

I even have a post in the "Want to buy" thread for a set of defined, workable patterns, but nothing has been offered yet. I am at the point where I'm just going to have to work something out on my own. I would love to work from whatever you've managed to put down so far. I know you were hesitating for fear something may need to be changed, but chances are I will change it anyway. I'm not that interested in screen accuracy, just in being faithful to the original. If you could see your way to email me what patterns you have, that would be great. I could share my tutorial source for the tunic if you wish.

Hello:) Could you please sent me the template, or pattern, of the hood? I'd very much like to have one just like it, and I'm struggling trying to make one for myself. This one looks perfect! Did you make the patterns spontaneously?

Re: robo3687's Ezio Auditore Master Assassin Build

i know, i'd had several attempts a few weeks ago to do patterns by hand....and yeh....that failed...

i'm going to try and find a fabric that's stiff enough so that it will stay in shape without resorting to wire.....i think with the way the pattern should work out (it'll match the game model exactly) it should support itself.....
Hey! I'm a new member looking to build an ezio hood as stunning as yours. Would you happen to have, or can you make a printable template? I was going to try to figure it out myself but your design is just so spot on that it would save a huge amount of time if I could just download and print out the template that you made. If you could it would be greatly appreciated! Out of the dozens of costumes I've seen yours matches the look the absolute best!

Hey I know I'm posting way late in this thread, but is there any chance we could see some more pictures of what you managed to get done on this? And like the others said, the hood template would be very nice :D

i figure it best to address this here then reply to all the individual messages...i get like 1 a week about these templates....

the sad truth is that the pep files were lost from my laptop along with a bunch of other stuff when i upgraded to windows 7....i don't know if i have another copy or not on another computer....i'll have to look....

as for relaunching the build it's unlikely, everything associated was either thrown out or has just gone missing.....except the sculpey...i still have that....lol....

although i did happen to find a big EVA camping mat in the cupboard yesterday...so who knows....maybe something will show up somewhere thats related to something....lol

EDIT: i should say though,it might be possible for some photoshop magic to be worked on this photo

to get the templates.....maybe

I've found that while most members concerned with building the "hard-rigid" costumes like Iron Man, Halo, Storm Troopers and the like share an immense wealth of knowledge and files freely, with a lot available, the part of this community concerned with these fabric creations, more specifically ANYTHING to do with Assassin's Creed, are the exact opposite. It's like asking for the original formula for Coca-Cola. Not saying the OP here is doing the same thing. It seems his files were lost from his computer. But I've been after a pattern like this since I joined, and no one, NOT ONE SINGLE MEMBER has stepped up to help. I just think it's weird...

Really, Robo, NOT criticizing you at all. I've had many a computer meltdown and lost files both rare and irreplaceable.

I totally agree, I've contact DOZENS of people and so far, received only two replies, one from Robo, and one from someone on DeviantArt. Bout the only part I'm really confident in making without a template is the Vambraces, because I'm good with stuff like that.
But other than that, I gotta base it off of something otherwise I'll end up cryin the blues cus I will have wasted tons of money and resources for an unfinished project haha.
I just came to this thread cus his hood came out perfect!

Subbed :) i wholeheartedly cant wait to see the pep files for the costume :)
i'm making an iron man suit off of your templates too lol

I'm starting an Ezio costume re-build, and will be using the above pic as the basis for my hood. I've completed the photoshop "magic" (which would have been extremely difficult had he not put the templates on a perfectly round table - yay) but I wanted to hold off posting the adjusted image until robo3687 gets a chance to see it and give me his opinion.

I'm excited, his hood has to be one of the best I've seen, I can't wait to see how these fit up!
