Hey guys I had a quick question about the ear pieces for the helmet. I can see as a whole how it is connected to the helmet itself but the piece that juts out a bit has no flaps to connect to the base circle. Am I just supposed to glue the whole piece and try to align it?
 
Yeah just wing it.. look at reference photos from the movie. But I suggest you harden the pieces first before attaching.. and be careful they don't warp.

Great work everyone! I see so many pep projects stall without being shaped/smoothed, it's nice to see someone go the extra mile to make it look right!

i think there is a pep reactor floating around either here or on the 501st in some one's low def war machine package
 
Sorry I know im a new comer here and you probaly get asked all the time, but is it hard to do build the Ironman suit? the files are fantastic but im just unsure would I be able to do it or not. I know the files are available but is it difficult to make? any special printer settings needed or what else is needed?

its not hard its just time consuming lol

all you really need as far as paper is 110lb or higher card stock an exacto knife and lots of fiberglass resin. as far as settings, go with what your region uses (in the us its letter, uk and other countries its a4, ect.)

nah man not hard at all...bit tricky at first.. as azurial said time consuming.... you can probably get half a suit printed from pdf in a4 for $30 to 50 at a office supply shop that does printing. thats what i did and used a glue gun.

im in australia so cost may b different... good luck mate

In the Pepakura designer I have loaded up the helmet for example and I cant rotate only in the pepakura viewer I am able to rotate it. I know its probaly a silly question, but is there an option on the pepakura designer so that you can rotate the image?

Do you have any idea how many times I've gone from using Pepakura to playing games and that damned right click always messes me up :lol:
 
Hey guys, I stumbled upon this site looking for helm with a Captain America costume for Comic Con and saw this awesome Iron Man project! It's motivated me to try to build the suite and paint it like the cover of Marvel What If? Civil War.

I couldn't find any mention on this thread or others about where to start each file though. I started building the helmet from page one of the pep file (so from the occital area), and it's a little funky. Is there an optimal build order? Which things should I leave seperate?

This is my first pepakura project, and all the info here and on 405 is really helpful! This is just one thing I could think of that would make it easier for me being the noob that I am.

best bet is to do the Jaw, Crown, and ear covers as seperate parts and then join them all when your done. A good beginner helm is this one
