One question , even if the build just begun, hasn't the circular piece under the sides of the COD piece remained the same with MKIII?

YOu are like the fastest modeler in the world.. thanks for banging this out so quick. It also amazes me that you have time to build it also.

I work 9-5 and usually have my evenings and weekends pack.. so any free time is used doing this and I still build so slow. Plus I am a bit of a perfectionist.

Great work. Can't wait to see it all done. Are you going to do any sort of thigh addition to span the gap from cod to thigh?

That's a great question. I don't think I've seen any fanmade suits with a thigh addition to bridge the gap. I notice that the Sideshow statues (Mark III) and Hot Toys figures (again, Mark III) both have it. Great idea! Especially if you're making a static display.

I did the default on the fingers and they were too large by a joint on every finger. my wife thought it was quite comical.

Put me down as someone that needs the mkVI brace as well :)

Great work on everything btw

Hello all I'm new one here
first Thank you robo for amazing pep I love it
Now I try to make a MK IV chest it hard to me but fun
I have a question what type of paper you use and How many gram do you use?
I use 150 gram plain paper but i think it not enough to coat with resin it seem to melt down

Hello Taoromeo, you need to use cardstock. I use 110lb. weight card stock, and it holds up well.

hope that helps :)

on a side note - here are leds i am going to use for the hand repulsors.
DealExtreme: $4.03 T10 15-LED White Light Car Angle Eye (60mm Diameter)

$4 bucks a piece, and they have alot of options and differant sizes

Robo, you must really be a robot! My brain would be too tired after building the model in 3d to even think about making it in pep, lol. Looking great so far!

This is some really awesome stuff you guys are doing here! I had started Iron Man Mark 3 and had to stop because I am moving but, I am most definitely doing this thing when I am unpacked! Robo3687, you are a God!

How do I get the right arm? I downloaded all the arm files and they are all lefties. Is there a way to switch it around in Pepakura?

Keep up the good work!

if you look at the two arm files (one listed left, one listed right) the images of the completed arms are the same, but the 2d pieces are reversed so if you make both, they are seperate arms. :)

i do have a reputation in some circles for being super quick at modeling.....but also being unemployed and having tonnes of free time also lends itself to getting things done fairly quickly....lol

and yeh there probably will be some little extensions for the gap...

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - 16/6 supports now available in first post

heads up guys. I went to a fiberglass supplies store and picked up some fiberglass cloth for reinforcements. I bought a couple of yards ( $2.79 per yard - 50" width) of "Surface Veil" which is a thinner fiberglass cloth thats was recommended to me by the salesman. I'm sure it's the same cloth that Finhead used on the outside of his peps. Also ordered a gallon of Smooth-on EpoxAmite for it.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - 16/6 supports now available in first post

What Finhead used was a standard Fiberglass mat, aka tissue, chopped glass etc. Most Helmet, and Mask makers use it because it really wets out, and loosens up allowing for great coverage without air bubbles unlike woven Fiberglass cloth. Bot sure about the smooth-on epoxAmite really being approriate for this though. Polyester is the standard.

Re: robo3687's Iron Man 2 Pep Files - 16/6 supports now available in first post

That is a beautiful model you made there. CAn't wait to try it out.

EpoxAmite is a lot better because it's not brittle like the polyester resin if used alone on the pep. Plus you get the benefit of a longer pot life so you're not in a rush of brushing your pep.
