Anyone doing the prop from The Day The Earth Stood Still movie? Robby the robot.Iknow that Barton has a right to it but wondering if any homebuilders out there? One of my favorites.

VIVA LA Gort..

I'm not picky I will take both as they are Iconic Robots of the 50's.

As I recall there are a few homebuilds out there but not too many.

I've got the Masudaya 2 foot tall Robby. I know he's not full size but for those who want to start out small he's very nice and can still be found at auction for a few hundred bucks. Very easy to put together. His "mouth" lights up with his original voice from the movie. He comes in black vinyl with clear parts for his dome, ears, eyes, mouth piece and "greeblies" inside his head. His legs are filled with what I think is plaster to keep him from falling over. He also has a second set of hands as claws.

The question is.... can anyone get hold of those plans and templates of the original referred to in that article? If nothing else it would be cool to frame and hang on the wall. I do know that there is a good bit of lost in space robot stuff around, including parts and walkthrough build ups, but of course Robby is just a bit cooler. So anyone know where to get those plans and templates?

IIRC, the one that Shado Pilot posted came from an issue of Starlog. Could be wrong.

Either way, "Jackill" blueprints have been around since the 80's. Lots of new info about some of content of his blueprints has been revealed since then, so some of these blueprints are "out of date" compared to the info we now have access to.

I have some of these older ones and they are cool.

However, some of his blueprints have been updated w/ the new info.

Recommended for the sheer "geek factor."

I have that original poster..came out of Starlog magazine..notice the bobbed Robby from Ark II (i think) in the top center :) one of my favorite versions.

No, the Ark II is on the middle row, left. I don't know where the "bobbed" one is from.

I remeber now.The top middle is from a tv series called "Project UFO".Where can one get the updated pictures from?
