Hey everyone,
New guy here, but not new to scratchbuilding. I've been doing it off and on for about 12 years now and I just wanted to introduce myself by sharing some of my work. Before I do that I just want to say how many incredibly talented peeps there are in this community who have made my jaw drop on more than one occasion.
Some of these are 100% scratch builds and some are toy bashed (like the Tie Bomber). I try to bash whenever possible because it just saves me a ton of time and work. I wanted to build stuff that Kenner/Hasbro had never built or may never build, so everything is built to 3 3/4" scale or 12" scale. I'm pretty much self taught so my first ones were not quite up to par, but I have learned a lot along the way and having never really been inside the box, I pretty much like to think that I only think outside of it because that is the direction from which I approach every project. All of this started on a dare with a friend. Well...let the insanity begin, welcome to my obsession:
This next one was a concept Tie fighter made from a front and side pic that I had stumbled across online from a chap who had designed it. I don't know who it was or where it came from, I just thought it was cool. I made the "eyeball" from an old plastic baseball that I found in my backyard (it was the perfect size) and I ran a piece of pvc through it to start the build up for the wings
This one here is my pride and joy, my "baby" if you will. It's from the Rebel Assault game I believe...and yes, the hatch opens up and you can place a figure inside
