Rise of the Planet of the Apes SPOILERS

jut got through with it and I liked it. the CGI was great until they got to the city. after that it was great on close-ups but failed on the open shots to me. I was there with the apes until that point , then i felt I was watching old school tron again in parts. The police finding their guns at the end of the movie was funny to me. Apes are running through the city and no one remembers that they make high powered guns.
it was good movie overall in my mind. Caesar speaking at the end was my favorite part . Also the fact he didn't want humans killed was also ironic.

Who is already working on the replica newspaper ?

The effects in this film blew me away. Maurice the circus orangatan was one of my favorites. He was so well played and him becoming essentially one of caesars generals was awesome. I loved when aldo and maurice grab the manhole cover and parking meter like they were nothing and threw them, i was like "You one badass mutha ****a maurice!"

I honestly thing maurice was the best rendered ape of the entire film.

I completely agree. There were times when I was trying to see Maurice as a gci character, but all I could see was an orangatan. His "Apes stupid." line got a lot of laughs.

I can only see movies that have singing teenagers and sparkly vampires in them as per my Doctor. My blood pressure is too low.
I'll be sad to miss this.
Laffo.

Loved the whole film. Easily the best of the year so far.

Although, there was a very easy quote that John Lithgow could have thrown in. Probably why they didn't.

Regardless, a must watch!

What gives a circus orang the ability to converse on a level with Caesar? How did Caesar find his house after being held captive? How did they do all this training at night if they were being recorded? I can't remember, but did Caesar start wearing pants again after he had lost them? lol

Laffo: Humans are such easy prey.

Just saw it. GREAT FILM! I have to agree with everyones' sentiment that Andy Serkis deserves an award for this.

What is it with naming these ships Icarus when nothing good ever comes from it? Do they not know who Icarus is??

.

The ship from the original movie wasn't called Icarus, in the screenplay it was called FREEDOM 1. I believe they called it this in that ANSA presentation film they made for the BluRay. A fan came up with the Icarus and it caught on.

*** CORRECTION - Larry is right, as always - i Checked the script today and it is indeed the LIBERTY 1.

Carry on.

A bigger question is why ANSA still gets funding. Every damn thing they build crashes or goes missing.

Just watched it, I have to say.......what a great film. I was very surprised how well it was done as the trailer doesn't do it any justice. It is easy to pick holes but lets be honest we could pick holes in any film.

This should do really well at the box office as it will appeal to old and young alike. A lot of homages in the movie especially the police on horse back with their batons. I would highly recommend going to see it.
