I would love to be that optimistic. Hell, I'd settle for any clear sign that it's been thought about! Even if it left things open to the audience to interpret, at least some sign that the filmmakers have got this covered in their backstory would be good.

I also noted some rather interesting details in the latest PROMETHEUS trialers that could maybe explain the origins of the biomechanical creatures seen in the first ALIEN...
