Rick Grimes - Season 3 'Woodbury Assault' shirt from "The Suicide King"... found???

Hey gang!!

I have just been champing at the bit, as the expression goes, to share this with you all, having searched for months, maybe over a year, for my own personal "white whale": the Rick Grimes shirt worn in Season 3's episode "The Suicide King". Recently, when McFarlane Toys put out the Series 7.5 mid-line figure of 'Woodbury Assault' Rick Grimes, my search for the shirt was emboldened, and I have DAILY seeked, sought, and searched for the durned thing...

Well, today... I believe I have found it.



I will follow up the vague post with evidence of said "find" later. I want to get better screen-caps from my high-def TV at home, as I'm underwhelmed by the clarity on my laptop screen. I believe I HAVE found it... and I WILL share that info with you all later.

Please do. I found on here that it was a Salt Valley shirt like this:

I bought it off eBay and then dyed it black and it looks almost identical to ricks minus the brands logo on the left pocket. But I'm interested in your find as this is a shirt I've been after for awhile too.

Not sure if theyre still available in stores or online. I had to do some deep searching for that company on the web. I got extremely lucky with that find and in my size which was the best of all. I dig the shirt a lot and will probably wear it more than just a costume piece. Anyways here's what mine came to look like after dying/hot washing/ air drying:

Shoot... I think maybe yours is the right one!! Especially with the pleat in the middle of the chest pockets and the black pearl buttons on it. I did not know that the information already was here... my bad.

Anyway... my "find" was a shirt which I think uses the same fabric as yours above, and definitely needs a dye job to be darkened up a bit, too, but the one I found is made by Lucky Brand, and I found it on eBay for about $25 bucks.



I figured I could change out the buttons, and dye it darker, to mute the colors. Everything else seemed right. Mind you, after spotting this one, I found two others, with the fabric sewn in reverse, so those looked wrong... and they were pricier, too, So, I clicked and made this one mine.

Tomorrow, I'll post the newer screen caps... It's late and I don't feel like docking my phone to the laptop tonight.

But, I'm happy today all the same.

daaaang that's a pretty good find :thumbsup And like I said I got extremely lucky finding the one I did.

after some dying and swapping the buttons(or just paint em') I think it'd be hard for someone to tell a difference between your Lucky brand and Ricks. I'd be happy with that find as well.

for my dying I just used one bottle of Rit in black, rang most of the dye out and then hot washed a couple times. Just so your not guessing.

Heh heh heh... that didn't take long... I got me one.

The fabric is "turned" 180-degrees from the way it is on the front of the shirt (upside-down, basically)... but it is thee shirt..!! And darn cheap, and from Georgia, no less!!

Hey... What did you use to dye that? I have that same shirt and I'm wondering what I need to use to dye it- and how... Good job on that!

Hey, I know this is insanely late but I found some close matches but to get it more accurate I need to dye it. Is there any recommended way to do it?
