Cheers DBCooper that seal was the next one I was going to look for.

OK I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their continuing support and a special thanks to all those who have contributed something or another, everyone who has contributed to this project will get an acknowledgement in the finished Journal and it makes me so proud to be part of such a great forum... no institution as this everyone is so friendly and very willing to hep and share with each other, someone famous once said "to have a family is a great thing, but to find a family of friends is special" and that's how I see all of you as friends and this project would not be possible if it were not for your help.

THANK YOU EVERYONE

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

just done my version of the scouts manual page - size printed is A6 - I've used some "Artistic License" on this one as I feel that the Manual would or should have been pocket size - hence the A6 size.

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

Hi Guys,

I was researching Indy and his younger years and noticed that Miss Seymour wrote him a letter prior to her passing and although I've not seen the episode and knowing what was it, well i did roughly as that was on the web page i was looking at but not the actual text, I decided to make one one - for inclusion in our Lost journal as I feel it would be something he would want to keep, I'm also working on an entry to go with it

so here is my WIP version

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

UPDATE:-

here is one of the Entries in the "revised" lost journal

April 16th 1908

Inserts & Sketches: Letter and Envelope from Anna Jones to Henry jr. & Photo of Indy on pony.

Mother thinks riding this pony was a big deal for me. But it wasn’t It’s just a little pony.

Received a letter from mother today with a photograph, I didn't realize how much I missed her until now. Dads always got his head in his work and researching some old cup, but at least he stays out of my way.

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

This projects amazing - getting lots of info and help from various sources not even connected to Indy, had some great responses from various celebs and other people to do with various aspects of the journal, Heinz Wolff for instance, a lady by the name of Jung Me, to do with some fate of Atlantis stuff, the British museum and the Met in New York, as well as Yale, the Russian Federation Embassy in London for KGB and FSB stuff - "спасибо" (spasibo) - also had a reply from the Overloon War museum in the Netherlands to do with Nazi stuff.

Everyone's really helpful and co-operative on this project and I'd like to thank everyone for their support so far

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

Hi all, just thought I'd update people with what is happening with this project, Rorschach999, myself, and one other person (if they want to make themselves know, i'll leave that up to them...you know who you are :) ) are collaborating to see this project through to completion.

Firstly I think it is important that I explain exactly what we are doing, so that everyone is clear.

Firstly there are going to be two version of the Lost Journal Prop, and from now on I will refer to them as "Hero" version and "Story" version.

"Hero" version will basically be a prop version of the Lost Journal of Indiana Jones, that I'm sure many of you already have. Complete with real inserts and extra information on the pages where the inserts cover in the real book.

"Story" version is an extended version of the Hero, with expanded history, covering details from Novels, Games, TV Series, Movies etc. with more inserts and other goodies.

One thing I should make clear now, is that we are intending to supply these journals through the Junkyard, but that will be quite a way off, lots of work to do until then.

At present we are thinking of doing three flavours of each version.

Digital - A digital file with the complete text and inserts for you to print out to create your own journal.

Standard - A printed leather bound journal with all inserts included (Not sure if this will also be aged, or clean for you to age yourself)

Deluxe - A printed leather bound journal will all inserts, with extra inserts and packaging...more info at a later date. (Note this may only be the Story version).

All this may change as the project progresses, but we will let you know.

An important note, this is not going to be a direct copy of the Lost Journal Book, Rorschach999 has already been in discussions with the creator of that book, and he is ok with what we are doing as long as we don't copy his work directly.

That being said, my job in the project is insert production, and as such I have decided to recreate ALL of the inserts in my own style (unless they are historical documents, or props from the movies/TV series), for example below is my version of the Anna Mary Jones Rememberance card, it looks nothing like that of the Lost Journal, but I think it is still in keeping.

Well that's about it for now, more information will be coming as things progress, and I'm sure if I have made any mistakes in this post, others will correct me :).

Until next time...

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

We've had a few PM's about the inserts and I thought I would just clarify as there seems to be a little confusion.

I am not reproducing the Inserts as they appear in the Lost Journal (I feel that would be recasting), what I am doing is creating inserts that are in keeping with the entries in the journal, but not copies. Where I can find historical versions of documents I am using them as the source for inspiration (Tickets, newspaper articles, official letters/documents etc), photo's we are trying to source and get permission to use them, and in some cases I will be creating my own "shopped" versions where needed. The intention is to produce inserts that haven't been recycled from other works.

That being said, I am trying to produce inserts to the highest standard so that it holds up to the original Lost Journal, I will post previews of some of them as I go along.

Hope that clears up a few things.

Until next time....

Peter

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

Thanks peter for the post....

I'd like to clarify a few things too in relation to the 2 versions we are creating the "HERO" and "STORY". as peter stated in post #72

the hero version will be a recreation of the Original but with removable inserts and additional text underneath the printed inserts, which we think makes for a more realistic journal. and something like an Easter egg as looking at a page it will look slightly different, but when you move or take out the inserts there will be other related text underneath.

The story version will be a greatly expanded version with some text from the lost journal but mostly new text written and created by me with some artwork, sketches etc hopefully original or a reworking of those in the lost journal as there are other sources for the drawings out there, so this version although will have the feeling lost journal as a reference will be for the most part totally different.

As for the inserts they will all be in keeping with the journal and Indy's adventures some created originally by us and some from historical sources.

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

here's a Letter from Lao Che to Indy

Please note Jpeg is only for preview and not a true representation of the letter

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

Hi all,

Here is a preview of the first few pages, they are far from finished and may look nothing like this when finalized but its an update on our project.

You'll also note that the Ty Cobb card is not on the respective page - this is because the actual card in Indy's collection (the one in the lost journal) was given to Krishnamurti in one of the YIJC episodes so would not be in his journal, also you'll note that Baden Powells photo is covering the text well the photo will actually be a loose insert as apposed to being affixed to the page, this is the case with a few of the photographs and inserts in our version of the lost journal, there are also going to be approx 50+ loose/stuck in inserts throughout the journal (114 in the actual lost journal) some of the "Actual Lost Journal" inserts now referred to as "ALJ" are not really needed but are there for story reasons so we are looking at it in a whole new light. With regards to what inserts we are including we are working to this simple code:-

Why are they in there ?
Would they be in there ?
Why has Indy got it ?
How did Indy get it ?

a good example of this is the grail rubbing why is it in here when it was in the Grail diary?

And photos of Indy, Short-round, & Willie - Can't remember them or the villagers having a camera ?

We are also creating one-of-a-kind-original paper props for this project some of which I'm very proud of ...sorry we are at the moment they are under wraps until we have finished this project (may be a few months down the line).

In regards to the entries we are including all books, graphic novel, all 4 Movies, TV, short stories, and even the RPG adventures to what degree and how much we will decide when sorting those pages out.

We are under no illusion we have taken on a major project and getting it right is the most important thing for us, we want to write a journal George Lucas would want to own - :lol

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

As rorschach999 already mentioned we are no longer using the Ty Cobb Baseball card, so here it is if anyone wants it.

Print at 100%, I've designed the PDF so that it can either be printed single sided and folded or double sided.

Re: New "Prop" Version of Indiana Jones Lost Journal

Here's something that's interesting:

March, 1928 issue of "Popular Science":

Mummies Sought in Arctic

"Mummies of long-forgotten men of the far north, older than those found in ancient Egyptian tombs, will be sought by an expedition of the American Museum of Natural History, this spring ... Natives of the Aleutian Islands believe the mummies hold a curse, and fear to go near them. It is related that a Swedish fisherman who attempted to remove a mummy to the United States in a boat was never heard of after he set sail."

You could just print this out and toss it in there, or you could really embellish it with phony letters and photos.

Anyway, thought this would be right up your alley.
