Resources section

I've noticed over the years that there's a lot of posts asking questions like- "where do I get resin?" and "What is Future known as in my country?"

How about a resources section where people can put up details of retailers they use (obviously not favouring any one in particular) , details of seasonal sales and promotions by retailers (help spread the word of good deals).

Reviews of products and retailers. Help people avoid the bad retailers. Give people a review or rating of resins, rubbers, paints etc. The "chrome at home" thread currently in the general modelling section is a good example of this.

General resources, weight and measure converters, resin info sheets, paint equivalency charts, you get the idea.

How to videos on using materials, obviously having no affiliation to any particular prop. i.e. using gelcoat to make stuff instead of using gelcoat to make vader helmets, that would be a props section matter.

I think this is a great idea, especially for newbies like myself that want to get into more aspects of the hobby. As it is now, I try and save whatever info I run across, but I don't know what I may have missed. A central source would be great, I think.

I agree it's a wonderful idea. It's why I joined this forum the wealth of information and the advice and connections I've obtained over the years has been priceless for me. It's how I learn to mold and cast.

I agree with this suggestion. It would be very helpful to have tips on molding, sculpting and places to get supplies all in one place.

Raffles, I don't know that we will have exactly what you are looking for (not just another forum) but we are working on a plan that should provide a lot of what you requested once we install the newest version of the vBulletin software (waiting for it to get out of beta testing and all the bugs to be worked out)!
