I'm a "whatever works" kind of person, so I'll take what matches the look and feel for what I am building/buying. For example, I don't mind getting a resin copy of something that is going to be paintes flat black anyway, I can add weights to get the right feel. Unfortunately, with props that need to look like they are made of metal, it is just so difficult to get the right metallic look from a resin prop. You can add weights to resin props, work out issues with shape and look, but when the rubber hits the road and it needs to look like metal, they are not quite the same because they just aren't metal so they'll never look quite right.
