Well i got inspired by snowshoe-archangel Aesome willy Replica and took it upon myself to make my own.It's not fully completed yet as I'm still looking to dress up the base and age the bandana a bit more :cool.Here's some pics so far.Doing this skull is not easy as I'm trying to get the skull aged as authentic to the original as possible.

added a couple of new pics and the bottom picture is a comparison to the real willie on the left.I got to age the eye patch and bandana a little more but besides that he's getting there :thumbsup.

Hey guys I was wondering if i can get some ideas for the wood base that willies skull rests on.I'm looking to dress up the base but I'm clueless on how i can do it so if you guys can please throw me some ideas that would be great.Below is a pic so you can see the base a little better.

hmm I would say age it of course but if I remember correctly the scene where Andy sets of the trap on the ship the the doors open, the wood Mikey breaks to go up had some writing on it.

Maybe figure out what it is and do that, or just make up a saying that fits the movie and put it on there. Just a thought:rolleyes

An aged ships wheel.

They have 12 inch wheels on eBay that would be perfect for this, once heavily weathered of course.

Looks great Pitbull! Try putting a wash around the teeth areas. It'll help smooth out the dry brushing artifacts and make it look more organic and natural.

What skull are you using for this? Is this the styrene pirate skull that's been reissued by Revell (i think), or a medical model?

Thanks for the all the suggestions so far... very clever ideas.

I was thinking i should get a cheap Goonies map roll it up or basically cover the base with the map?.If not cover it just have it rolled with a lot of rubies and pearls along with some gold bars around it.Maybe have a few heavily melted candles on some small aged brass candle holders.I like the idea of the pirate ship wheel i just think it might be too big and cover willies face.
