Removing paint from brass?

What would be the best way to remove Krylon Fusion paint from brass with no damage to the brass?

I originally painted an OWK grenade stem satin black, but I've decided to weather it.

You should be able to use most solvents. Acetone or Goof Off (not goo-gone) would work well..If the brass was originally finished with a clear shellac or lacquer to prevent tarnishing, it will remove that also, but since you are weathering it anyway. You might want the tarnish..

I have a similar question...I have one of those cheapie Indian made Claymores with the brass basket hilt. I've been wanting for ages to find something that I could use to age the hilt so it's not so damned shiny.

Anyone know of a way to age and patina brass?

There's a LOT of commercially available patina solutions for aging metals. Usually a nitrate or liver of sulpher based for brass. Look in your local fine art or even hardware store paint sections - where faux finish supplies are. Or just google.. Remove the laquer finsh first, if it's coated, then apply the solution as directed..
If you ever want a temporary patina, then ultra-matte finish "railroad" model colors work well stipple on or apply with an airbrush....Do your research on the type and color of patina that you want first..Look at pics of the real aged thing.
