Removing/Hiding Labels From Boots

I'm making an original Star Wars character cosplay and found the perfect motorcycle boots to go with it but of course they're covered in those ugly brand labels/stamps and whatnot. I'm wondering- is there any way to remove/cover these without greatly affecting or damaging the look of the boots? Photos attached.

A couple of options

Fabric paint to disguise the logo?
Fabric cut to shape to cover the logo? (use contact cement or fabric glue)
Distress rough up the area with sandpaper would be my go to but it depends on how you want to present your character.

Down and dirty always looks better more believable and in universe.

Yes that's what I'm thinking- give it the weathered look. The only issue is it's pleather and I don't know if you can use the same distressing techniques as you would for genuine leather. I don't want to tear or drastically damage the material.

Get yourself some scrap material to test on and when your confident apply it to the pleather..
Ive had some pleather that once you rub of the outer layer can look a bit suede and cool.
