Re: My Relicmaker Goonies map displayed

I plan to order a few from PJ sometime down the road, when I get my design the way I want it.
Everything I've seen from them so far has been killer work.

Re: My Relicmaker Goonies map displayed

Hey Mike,
That looks GREAT! I think I might have to get a map from Brenton.

One suggestion would be to take out the other dabloons and only keep Relic's in there. I think the others detract from his and the map. Just a thought but it's very cool!

BTW, Brenton. Can you post pics of your framed map when done?

Re: My Relicmaker Goonies map displayed

Will do! I'll post it up when it's finished. I've got to age the frame up a bit as well. It's too new looking.

Re: My Relicmaker Goonies map displayed

Thanks for the tip about Hobby Lobby. I've casually looked around for a thin wooden frame since I purchased my map from you, but with no luck. I should have known that it would be right under my nose at the local craft store.

And add me to the list of those that want to see your completed display, Brenton. :cool

Re: My Relicmaker Goonies map displayed

Moved to the prop forum.

Looks fantastic :thumbsup

Funny you say that cause i was gonna take those off for a while now anyway and leave it as just brenton's work. Thanks for the compliment brad :thumbsup.I'm gonna need a shelf display for the copper bones to sit next to the map also.Every time i have company over and out of all my props they are fascinated with that map :cool it truly is a work of art and you should def invest in one.

Cheers

great display demonfire but if that copper bones falls off your wall, watch your feet cause that could be a world of pain :lol

:confused :confused :confused

Dude i would be paranoid if i knew that 5lb piece of metal was above me while i'm sleeping maybe you should find a new spot just to be on the safe side, just my 2 cents

The frame is by no means "thin"! It's a pretty thick frame as you can see below. They mounted the glass midway on the frame, making it appear that the frame was only half as thick as you think it would be.

I'll be having a local glass shop cut the appropriate sized glass I'll need to glue down within the frame.

I also bought some thin sheet brass and will be cutting out a mount for the Doubloon.
