Recast biker pistol

Hi all

It had to happen at one point, but someone has re-cast my biker scout pistol and has it on ebay. DidnÂ’t know if I could post warning links so if you want to see just do a UK search for BIKER SCOUT PISTOL - STORMTROOPER ARMOR PROP STAR WARS.

I know nothing can be done, but just thought a heads up would be nice. Also beware of selling anything to this ebay person 'billenness' or this guy 'arthurschest' who I suspect might be one and the same. I suspect the later buys stuff then sells under the other name. I cannot confirm this for certain as only have one address and have no way of getting the current sellers address. Reason behind this is i mainly sell biker stuff overseas, and have only sold one set in the Uk in ages, back traced through other events to arthurschest, and surprise surprise soon after sale recast biker pistol pops up.

:( Don

That totally does suck Don...

Didn't Ebay have a policy about recasted items ?

If so, you could possibly report it, if you show them solid proof that it is a copy of your item.

Might be worth a shot..

If you are the maker you can get his auction closed.

Also, afaik, if it is regarding a fraudulent auction or recast items it is allowed to post a link here.

Sorry to hear about you being recast. It is certain that he is not simply selling an original?

Hi all

It seems technically as I don't have a license to make it in the first place, a vero doesn't apply.

Also itÂ’s defiantly a recast as he has the original in the picture as well, and its cast in tan resin, not high impact black resin.

I think what sucks more is I put a lot of effort into making sure the barrel doesn't snap off or it breaks when dropped while out trooping. ThatÂ’s got to be the biggest downer ever if youÂ’re out trooping and you drop your blaster, and it breaks as it hits the floor. Ruins your whole day.

This guy is not going to go to the same lengths to make sure its trooping proof, so you have to feel sorry for the winner, as they are getting a substandard piece of kit, as with most recast stuff.

:) Don

ps, a couple of friends reported it under the Listing Policy Breaches of eBay but it hasn't been removed yet. I will also re-read the vero to see if I misunderstood it. Thanks :)

It's unfortunate that you have to deal with this, but thank you for informing the community here.

By calling these types of people out we can choose not to do business with those who will only look to make money off of our labor.

I e-mailed the guy and he replied.

ME: "The pistol looks exactly like the sculpt a friend of mine did. Is it a recast of another version or your own scuplt?"

His Reply: "Hi,
Hardly surprising they look the same if we are both trying to make a screen accurate version of the same pistol? this is original. ;)

Simon " :rolleyes

I had earlier bids on this item & was keeping an eye on it with view to increasing bid later on - thanks for posting this thread, I'll stay clear of the seller.

thanks

I've now cancelled my bids from this item (E-bay ref 180097068873)

Hi all

What a load of bull. I made a mistake on mine, when turning the side and top rod hence it differs from all plans. Also I altered the trigger guard as well to make casting easier. (No pressure casting at that point.)

Not to mention in the picture of the black one you can see the mould join line ontop of the top sight adjuster.

Where my shotgun ;)

:) Don

It sucks to see someone recasting your work. It is a beautiful blaster.

How about contacting the bidders and sending them a link to this thread and any others you have placed on the prop forums? ( I saw the one on the RPB ) I am sure that would be OK with e-bay and might show this talentless Vulture that its tantamount to theft what he is doing .

I also sell some parts on e-bay (steve12365) so i will be sure and not ssell to him :thumbsup

He is even ripping the buyer off on shipping too .. £12.50 to europe ,that would only be about £4.00 airmail and £6.00 rest of the world..

You cannot send email to the bidders any more as the bidders names have been hidden by ebay. They show as "Bidder1" etc..

Great way to allow people that rip off others to hide and the people buying their items have no chance on getting a warning
