Randomsabers website gone again...

Site's there for me (albeit, all the images are missing). I suspect it's just a problem with the site host.

It might be partially loading off your hard drive cache, I'm getting that it's unavailable and sales messages from IX hosting.

I've never been there and it's loading for me. Some of the pics are gone, but everything else is there.

The site had a suspicious 122 people on at one time last month (normal traffic would be less than 20 on at one time) and the hosting company instituted a throttling procedure. A note from Ryan on another board:

OK - here is the deal. The throttling policy instituted by the old web host (ixwebhosting.com) dictates that we are allowed 50 people on the site at any given time...this is split between the main site (viewing the gallery or FAQ stuff) and the Forum. If more than 50 people get on the site(s) they automatically shut it down for the next 10 minutes. After 10 minutes, they 're-open' the site, but again...only 50 people can be on the site every 10 minutes.

First off, I didnt realize we had that many fans...thats pretty good actually. But second, that seems like a very small number...

But I digress. So, as big a waste as this new throttling policy is, I cant get them to remove it...so I did the next best thing and canceled entirely.
I already have a new space setup (we are just waiting for confirmation that everything is truly up and running...)

Cheers
Ryan

Another message indicated that the switchover was taking longer than expected (domain name rights and such) but hopefully it won't be much longer.

Edit: it seems to be more-or-less running now. some of the graphics haven't been loaded yet, but the forum is online at least.

OK, so it's that ethreal THEY that are just effing with me then. Fine everyone can hit the site but me. I just tried again and still zilch.

Pleah.

Like Otter said. Ryan was having some issues with the hosting company and switched. In the process of doing that the domain got locked at Internic and so it took a bit before he could get it pointed at the correct server. It'll take a few days before everything has propagated correctly and possibly a few more to find out what all got missed in the transfer and get it back up.
