rancor puppet replica

I am so sorry i didn't post anymore updates, the problem was that i had a lot of things to study and i couldn't work much on it, i menaged to cast the head, it Came out pretty well, but then looking at the body, i realized some things where wrong, i am going to make the molds also for the body, but this Last weekend i just decided to start making the definitive one, so i bought twenty kilos of wed clay, i made an armature in steel and i began making a rancor just like the one in the movie, eighteen inches tall, and it will be a puppet in wich a Hand will completeley Fit in the head of the puppet to control the mouth and because of its size, i think it will be easier overall to make it, i will keep posting updates...hopefully very soon :)

I am trying to upload a picture of the rancor i started the day before yesterday but i am not able, i don't understand why, maybe it is my internet connection..

I love what you are doing with the EU rancor Chaim, good job and yes, i noticed too that on the elbows there is some sort of plating with spikes, almost like on the shoulders

I didn't have much time to work on the rancor because of the studying, but i still got something done, after i will post some pictures. [emoji6]

Sorry for the long wait, tomorrow morning i will post pics of my progress, and i will be able to work on the bad boy all day, so things are going to start moving a lot faster, hopefully by the end of June the sculpt will be done...

No worries these projects can take a lot of time to do well ... just carry on ... do not forget to enjoy some sunshine :)

Chaim

You are absoluteley right Chaim! And yes, i can't forget to enjoy the beautifull weather after such a cold and cloudy winter :)

Here are a few pictures, i took these this morning, tomorrow evening i will post some pics of what i got done today and hopefully tomorrow :) if you can see anything which is not right or that has to be fixed please point it out to me, it is missing many details which i still have to put on there, for now i am trying to get the rough shape done, and at the end i will put the finishing details, but if you do see something wrong please don't hesitate to tell me :)

I took a bunch of reference pictures and filled them onto my computer screen to make a new screen shot ... so I could glance at several pictures at once :

It really works great .... try it out :)

Chaim

It really does work great! I have already put at the beginning of the project a lot of printed pictures of the actual puppet on my wall to get a lot of reference since this is a very tricky subject to sculpt.

I have also other pictures loose to take a close up look, and also on my phone i have some new pictures i found of the actual sculpture still in clay wich are awesome!

Here are some updates, i have to make the forearm a little bit bigger, and work on some parts tomorrow, but i finally got the head to look good, looking at some pictures of the actual sculpture i understood how the eyelids were made, and also many other characteristics of the whole thing, hope you like it and as always if there is anything which doesn't look right, please don't hesitate to tell me

And sorry for the pictures coming out sideways, when i upload them with my phone this sometimes happens, tomorrow i will try to post the pictures from my computer.
