This year my wife, who isn't one to usually care about dressing up for Halloween, decided that she wanted me to come up with costumes for us. Seeing as it was mid-October when she decided this I didn't have much time.
Since she's a redhead the first thing that came to my mind was Black Widow. Not too difficult, now what for me? I didn't want to have a cheesy store bought costume, and wanted to be recognizable without having to explain the costume. I knew I didn't have time to build anything too elaborate, so I decided on Tony Stark.
Using the plans I found via a Google search (that lead me to finding this site!) I made a foam gauntlet and added LEDs under a frosted lens made from plastic bottles and one of the hard plastic six pack holders that craft beer is now coming in.
Two taplights were hacked abart and turned into the Arc Reactor. Not pretty but worked well under the shirt.
Add all that to my suit, a pair of sunglasses from WalMart and a trim of the beard and I think it worked rather well.
