QUESTION: 'Heavyweight' ABS production

Hey guys, I have a general question about the production using 'heavyweight' ABS that is often used for model guns and such. I looked around the web and this forum a bit and have seen lots of information about metal-plating plastics as well as metallic 3D printer filaments, but nothing specific to this sort of material. I might not know the correct name for it. Does anyone know about the manufacturing process for this? Is it a cold-cast/resin process or something similar? Thanks in advance!

It's basically "cold cast" injection molded ABS plastic. Same idea, different method of production. Not sure which metal is used though.

Injection molding is always expensive, molds particularly...but the end result is always A+.
