Question about Heatforming ALREADY PAINTED Pieces

Hello,
I am currently making repairs to my Ahsoka Siege of Mandalore cosplay. All her armour has been painted, and my being a noob didn’t realize how important shaping is for foam pieces! I’m wondering if AFTER I seal my pieces with flex seal, I can use my heat gun to heat form the sealed, painted pieces, or would it just melt the paint? I’ve looked at the temps that flex seal can handle and I think it’s in range with my heat gun. Is this possible or do I need to start over?

It will most likely melt, wrinkle or peel the paint. You probably don't have to start fully over, but you probably will have to repaint. But you can try it on a section that isn't directly in view and see what happens. try and heat form it from the inside.
