(shrug) I'd still be in, most of my pieces are just used for display anyway and never really get to be "played" with.
That said, I bust out my DST tricorder all the time when my wife is on some rant.. I'll click it open, start scanning and in my best Nimoy voice inform her that I'm detecting high levels of BS coming from her direction.
It ALMOST always gets a laugh and defuses the situation by injecting a dose of humor. :lol

I had the opportunity to handle this item at Comic Con. Its totally able to be handled - good weight on it and was blown away at the price. Qmx did a supreme job on this.

Still waiting for this one. Can't seem to find any updates. It was supposed to be released in January but they pushed until February from what I was told. It is now March. Anyone know what's going on with this?

When I first saw this release statement, I was ecstatic with the thought of getting one of these. But it has been so long since I heard about it and nothing has happened, I just don't know IF it will happen or not. QMX has not released any more updates so its a myth to me until they do say something.

I put a preorder in. Got an update of shipping and delivery March 19, 2011 - April 5,2011. I dont have a tracking number or exact shipping date. For $ 50.00 - i thought I would take the chance.

An update from QMX would be nice!

not impressed by QMX at all. Promises of Trek props and models yet nothing except crappy posters and a few badges!! U can't keep telling people...hold on we are making it perfect and worth the wait. I love Trek, but the big excitement over the movie has well passed. I think they missed an opportunity to really sell. I will be very surprised if they actually get this one out. And I mean, c'mon, it's taking how long to get this made and its only a STUNT version. By now we should have a hero one. QMX ... failing so far. At least Playmates does something and has a fun factor. May not be accurate, but its a toy. IMHO

I sent a request for information to the customer service email to check on the release date. I will be contacting the Ebay seller I sent money to for the pre-order.

This was the QMX response:


Hello Gordon,

We have not currently started pre-orders for this product, did you order through another company or us directly? The phaser is still being released and in the very near future, we do not have an official release date at this time but any updates will be sent out in our QMx Insider emails. QMx is not going out of business, so do not worry we have many more exciting things planned. Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with.

What I find interesting is QMX keeps saying they have this awesomeness coming, but it's so few and far between. Where is the Enterprise model? The BSG Viper? the stuff they've advertised isn't here yet, so why keep throwing this out like that? I know they need to drum up interest so they can make cash to pay for the licenses, but it's not fair to advertise something 12-18 months out, is it?

I complained on their facebook on their post about "Bad Robot Maquettes" and this is what they said:

"Hi Ian - we feel the same! If we thought airdropping to the deck of the container ship, dropping behind the stern and kicking for all we're worth would help, we would do it "

So hopefully its gonna work out!!
