I know I saw a topic on this a long time ago but couldn't seem to find it with the Search function. Anyway, has anyone ever removed the grips from a QMX Mal pistol? How easy/difficult is it to do so that the pistol isn't damaged? My dad does a lot of wood carving and was thinking of getting him to carve me some grips.

Thats too bad.. I got a Wilco recently, to do a custom personal "verse" gun. Id love some good wood grips.

I could possible make them, but I would need a traced template, dimensions and a ton of screen shots.

or you could just buy a wilco cast for $30 and have everyting you need. But back to topic.

Without a saw? Thoose sucker are glued fairly well, (at least the few ones out not sure on current ones).

Here are the original two (long dead) threads with all the best intentions and no results:

I contacted QMX when the plastic Mal Serenity pistol first came out. The grips are glued in place and cannot be removed without damaging the piece.

I have one, and you could probably saw them off with a razor saw. The QMX is nice, and durable as Hell (mine fell off a 7-foot shelf to a hard floor with no damage whatsoever), but not, IMHO, worth the effort of wood grips.

Yeah both of those threads are for the Sidkit. Not the QMX. I wil talk to my dad though to see if he would be interested in make some wooden grips for the Sidkit. He does some wood carving as a hobby.

I KNEW I had seen it somewhere. I was think it was it's own thread. Thanks xardoz. Well, if it's going to be that difficult I will probably just leave it alone.
