Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!! CASE CLOSED 5/18/09

Re: Pulse Rifle Completed!

Here are pics of my PR as it arrived at its new owners house. WTF happened?!?!?! I have a claim in to UPS for the insurance. Suffice it to say I will never use UPS again!:angry

Plus, I know the gun was packed safe and secure because I had actually sent it to the wrong address. I told him a package was coming and the whole story and he sent it back by refusing delivery. When it got back to UPS I picked it up and took it home. I added a small item to the box for the new owner as an "I'm sorry it's taken so long" gift. The contents were fine. I send it to the right address and it shows up all busted to Hell!

Whoa. Those are horrifying pictures from what was such a nice piece, bud.

Sorry to hear it.

Re: Pulse Rifle Completed!

:eek

That looks serious...!
Sorry to see such fine piece treated so wrong (by >pros< ).

Wasn't there kind of note by UPS what happened to the package, when they delivered to the new owner?
I bet no..:thumbsdown!

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

That looks to me like someone took it out of the package, was playing with it, and dropped it. Probably racked the slide too hard and sheared off the pump handle as well.

I never ship UPS for just that reason. They have destroyed more things than have arrived safely in my case.

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

:thumbsdown UPS, pronounced Oops. That sucks, I hope they make good on it.

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

Ouch. They're on a streak lately. I ordered $500 in parts for my 09 Challenger R/T (SRT front lower spoiler, belly pan w/ brake ducts, hood gas struts, & the open hood scoops). Package came pusted up and shrink wrapped. Driver handed me the package and ran for the truck and ignored me when I said 'wait I'm checking the box' (no delivery signature was required). Needless to say, it was missing the hood scoops, struts, and mounting hardware for the pan & lower spoiler. BMC Performance wasn't happy to get that phone call & UPS still hasn't called me to come get the empty packaging for inspection like BMC said they would.

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

Had similar issues in the past with DHL. They're just as bad. FedEx and USPS seem to be the only reliable shows in town any more.

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

Sorry to see what happened, Robiwon. Hopefully everything can get squared away for both you and the new owner, who I'm sure is crushed - it's so depressing to open a package and see somthing like this.

On a somewhat related note, has anyone seen the new UPS commercial; it's of a package being boxed/shipped as if it's in a circus (mostly computer generated graphics)? My wife and I saw it the other day for the first time, and when it finished, she turned and said, "That looks like how I imagine they handle their packages." For how little she ships or pays attention to my interest in this hobby, her having that opinion seemed pretty telling as to the image they've created in the industry.

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

UPS, complete apes, as it goes, id trust apes to deliver my packages, ive had way too much hassle with them over one parcel, i was quoted for, made a payment, had the item collected, then thay chased me for an additional £130 or so as "we got the quote wrong"......and believe me the people on the other end of the phone, well, ive had my cat say more intellectual sentences, needless to say, i told them id see them in court, and no, i didnt have to pay a dime more!

Couple that with the fact the model arrived busted to my buyer, id rather drive rusty nails into my own genitals than use those morons once more!

Sorry to see your rifle in that state Robi, hope you can make it all good again!

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

I did recieve a PM from Matt over on the AL board. We will see what happens.

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

It looks very nice, although I think that the wooden display doesn't really work.

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

Thanks. It did look nice. But in post 21, I show pics of the gun destroyed. Now it really does not look nice.:eek

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

Oh, sorry to hear that.. I was browsing through the pics on page 1.

I've had several problems with UPS, took a lot of my private time to deal with those guys. :sick

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

Dude, that freakin' sucks! I've had so much bad luck with UPS, both with my own personal shipping and at work (we are a comercial door hardware co.) I have found that UPS's fav. excuse is, "improperly packaged by shipper." Watch out. I've beat that response to get credit about 2% of the time. And that was with threats of loosing business with our gigantic company.

I always use USPS now in my personal dealings unless a client specifies some other method at thier risk.

I thought the exact same thing!

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

Terrible news. So sorry this happened to you, sadly like others I have had the same thing happen. I had to fight on three separate occasions for them to "do the right thing" since I had paid the extra for insurance. Funny thing is, once they tried the "improperly packaged by sender" line on me, when I had it packaged by one of their own people at a UPS store :confused Good luck, and keep fighting for them to reimburse you.

I use Fed Ex now, and so far no problems:thumbsup

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

That reall sucks to see such a great looking prop damaged like that by idiots. I got a Vader helmet one time that had a hole on the left corner of the box that went on through to the side that was 90 degrees to it, narrowly missing the helmet by a hair. It was like a spear was jammed through the frigging box! Another time I received workout equipment that had big gashes in the box, once again luckily not damaging the product inside.

Good luck with your claim. :thumbsup

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

I try not to ship anything fragile via UPS because I've known people who worked for them, and I've heard all the stories about how parcels are handled. Garbage men load their trucks with more delicacy. Our UPS guy doesn't even get out of the truck. I've been home a few times in the afteroon and heard the truck pull into the driveway, and then heard a LOUD thump against the front door, and found boxes strewn in front of the door. It's like a drive-by delivery.

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

Sorry to hear what happened. It's a damn shame as it was quite an awesome piece to have :(

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

That is a freaking travesty, That pulse rifle was beautiful, sorry to hear the news

Re: Pulse Rifle - DESTROYED BY UPS!!!

I hope you're successful with the claim, it's a terrible thing to happen to such a well made pulse rifle. :confused
