Heres a few various finds ive made this morning. I think for the most part, the legs etc are common knowledge, but i may post up as much as i can if you guys wanna see?

More so im just trying to find some of the wayward parts, or parts that are incorrect on the SS kit.

Heres a couple that were completely missing as far as i know.

The small Plastruct parts for the eyes are too small IMO on the kit, the aerial parts are correct, but the tri eyes, should be the larger 416 part.

I know Guy may be starting his own journey on this one soon, hopefully, we can work together, and get it all mapped out, just to make the original kit, shine a little better.

Ill ask Guy if its cool to post his pic set, these are cropped for now, just to be polite and all :)

OK Adolfo, now im ashamed :lol, that said, ive two Grant's, and two Lee's, that ive not pulled out yet, but THANKYOU.....ill pull the part now and add it to the assortment, your a star!

I'd love to scratch one too. I can get the legs lasercut in acrylic for you if you want, unless we're going off the deep end again with metal?!

CAN OF WORMS!!! :)

Lee, you scratching or modifying Ro's build? I know his was never designed to be cast, and I crave articulation on the one I build... So at the very least, the body needs to be hollow, and accessible from the inside to anchor those legs. Like i've also said to at least a few people before, the head would benefit from separate eyes. Man, you're getting me all fired up.

Jason, im building the NiceN/ Rolando pattern. I looked into scratching it, but its too much for me to bite off buddy as a full scratch.

Basically, im replacing a HUGE percentage of the donor parts laid on the resin. I even went as far to cut off one of the Tri eyes the other day as it was pretty off (and a little scuffed) and that went great, looks much better.

For the eyes, hmm, not sure what im doing yet, but my one thought, was to have the lenses pulled in Polycarbonate, painted from the inside, and applied over the existing.
Thing is though, the props lenses, are just paint, and, not much better than the actual kit, so im on the fence there, maybe just a lot of smoothing, and a good good of gloss black.

Legs, well, id like articulate ones, but i struggle to draw on the computer TBH to make up a set for laser cutting.
As for leg media, i thing alloy is very cool, but not really worth the cost, plexi would work perfectly seeing as they take no load.

If somebody is up for drawing them, id sure pool funds in if a run was arranged Jason?

Failing that, ill just carry on modding the hell out of the head and body, till i can teach myself to draw them up in a 2D file.

Oh and it seems there are a few parts missing on the prop today from the underskirt, mainly on the Tamiya M16 array.

Ill get a build thread up sometime soon, itll be slow, theres a lot to be shaved off and replaced.

Very cool project!! Scratching the head looks quite daunting.
Let me know if you need any CAD drafting help as i have been using those programs in my profession for quite some time now. Drafting the outline of the legs for laser cutting should be a relatively simple task.:thumbsup

Lee,

You might wanna be careful. Rolando's version isn't quite the right size on the head and layout. JC can provide more info, but as you start going down the path of accurizing it you may find some dimension issues.

Isel, yes i know, Ro's is slightly smaller IMO, already starting to notice that. Dont worry bud, most of what is being done, wont really affect the overall dims, its pretty much the laid on donors, that shouldnt cause too many headaches.
I was a tad too impatient to wait Isel....just wanted another PD like yesterday :lol

Better to get something done than fret over the details. When your done its going to look just as good and only people from this board would notice the difference. The added parts are going to really add to her....and what were you going to do with all those kits anyways.

Looking forward to seeing your work!
