Re: Free paper-prop thread no.3 - 2008

thanks!
now i can get to work the landing pattern picture seems to be rather odd and something used for another purpose i cant seem to make out the landing patterns so this could be some sort of military declassified item from the 50s.

In the movie they said it was a radar image of their landing around some area
The round dots were the "tripods" and the enlongated was the landing pods.

Fallout 3

Still have not gotten the game so i can't take screencaps from it.
I have seen this Book and thought it would be fun to make.
Anyone that could take screencaps on all pages?
I know it from the character creation scenes

Re: Free paper-prop thread no.3 - 2008

(ok they wernt really tripods but they should of been)

They were. Their three legs were 3 beams of electromagnetic energy. The War Machines weren't flying saucers that could fly off into space, they needed a surface for their legs to hold them up and move them. Personally, I always thought this was an ingenious scientific updating of the source material.

Sorry to derail.

Rocket Pack schematic drawing from The Rocketeer

Took this from a PIH Ebay auction:
Original screen-used Rocket Pack schematic drawing from The Rocketeer. (Disney, 1991) This schematic was drafted by character A. "Peevy" Peabody (Alan Arkin) who invented the fantastic rocket pack that is the central premise of the film. Two schematics were used in the making of the film, this being the primary example used throughout most of the film, while the other was used for second unit close-ups. This is an actual hand-drawn piece that exhibits studio distress. A very key prop from this popular film

That picture of the guts of the rocket pack is sick. Thank you for sharing that with us. It looks like it would really work, so cool.

Re: Free paper-prop thread no.3 - 2008

So who's going to redraw it in a larger size? :)

Re: Free paper-prop thread no.3 - 2008

I will if I can get a higher res copy of the drawing. I can't make out any of the text...nor do I know what dimentions the paper should be.

But I can copy just about anyone's handwriting, and line drawings are a snap.

Re: Free paper-prop thread no.3 - 2008

coolness:) I was just watching the RObocop movies the other day and noticed there were quite a few good paperprops. Especially on the first movie.

Re: Free paper-prop thread no.3 - 2008

That helps a lot, but there's still some text I just can't read. And how big would it be? 11" x 17"? 20" x 36"? If I can figure out the size, I can at least start on the rocket drawing, and save the text for later once we all figure out what it says.

Re: Free paper-prop thread no.3 - 2008

By doing come comparison measurements it "appears" that the paper is appx. 13-14" tall.
If you look at the screen cap, it looks like a coffe/tea cup on the desk. My wife has a similar vintage "small" size coffee cup that has a 2" ring base, so if you base the stains at the bottom of the drawing on that, you should get close. Appx. 13"x17"

I know it's an odd paper measurement, but it's the best I can do. I'm sure there are more skilled hands here who can get a more accurate measure. :)

After receiving jvasilatos's excellent Gotham police badge, I went back and updated my Gotham police i.d. badges. I added new ranks and updated the logo. The font I used for the name, d.o.b., and badge number is called lucida console for those looking to customize the i.d.'s.

Has anyone ever done Col. Kurtz's file from Apocalypse Now? That would be very cool to have!
