wow nice map, is this going to be released as a free paper prop?

I tried scanning it in sections due to its size and I figured I could just re-assemble and make one image....didn't work out that way. My scanner drags different with each pass.
I aged my creation today. Started this morning with some left over coffee, red & yellow food coloring and a charcoal pencil. I soaked it for a good hour, dropping hints of food coloring in areas. I would rock the cookie sheet pan like a photographer developing film.
Once it dried out, I burnt the edges.
The pic shows its scale as well as an original piece of my watercolor paper to give distinction between original and aged paper cuz camera's don't do it justice LOL.

Can't wait to frame it.....and make another. I already see things I would do differently.
I realized just now that I forgot to put the music notes on the backside.
Cheers

I found a way to get ya'll my unaged drawing.
Now, I'd hate to see these getting laser copied and just thrown on ebay, so I put a watermark on it.
This file is intended for you to printout (use a few 8.5x11 sheets and assemble like a puzzle) and trace. Be creative and make your own changes. Have fun :)

thank you so much my wife is a big time goonies fan. this would rock for her. gives me something to work at when she is at work and give to her on her birthday in june. thank you again.

Quite generous.
But the real question is:
Does anyone know what the correct text is?

I'm sure they didn't have a Del Taco back than. ;)

Hello I am a noob but I wa wondering if anyone would mind helping me with a decent sized copy of the map from "The Mummy."? I have recently gotten a cheap resin scarab and want to buy one of the keys but need a map to put in it:)

How's the accurate "Goonies" map going BTW?

This thread is awesome:)

By my calculations, this thread is about to achieve critical mass and become a space-time singularity... :p

Awesome stuff, guys. Be sure to have it all featured on Kris' site. :) :thumbsup

I know what you mean Gabe... It's almost larger than some of the Vader or Stormtrooper helmet comparison and debate threads. :lol

I had asked about the text before and got no replies. In doing mine, i wanted to keep flow while writing...so I just wrote a bunch of words down that didn't mean anything. Funny how some of em just ended up being what they are. Del Taco, Pies, geraldo are just a few that are readable. :lol
Ought to make it easy enough to spot if it shows up on eVilbay :p

I have went thru the movie and wrote down all the lines Mouth read when it comes to the map. I keep meaning to have one of my Spanish teachers do a translation for me so i can make another map that actually could be translated.

Guess I really should pic up a copy of the movie. :$
Good idea on having the correct translation done.

I'd be hard press for something like that where I live.
Over half the population is Mexican but they don't speak real Spanish.

You'll need Old World Spanish to make it authentic.

I can't blieve you went through all the effort of writing all that stuff on the map, and never tossed in a "Yo Queiero Taco Bell"(sp) in there. :)

Pretty sweet map overall. I hope you can get someone to translate the movie "spanish" on it for you, that would be sweet.

"Ye intruders beware..." ;)

That, and "Cushing death and grief, soaked with blood of the tresspassing thief" are all I can ever remember. :) Well done.

Great Goonies map. Just need the backside with the notes now :)
Anyway here is a good way to age: First take some coffee powder and make it wet, then smear it over the paper. Let the paper dry and print out. Works great ;)

:lol

The other Goonies maps I have seen looked consistant in their writing. Either there IS a file of know translation out there or it was one person made one and someone else copied it. Mine is the only variation I have seen.
