Prequal Obi saber question:How to fit "valve"

So I have a Parks prequal Obi and I want to replace the valve with an upgraded, better one. Problem is, the replacement is too small for the threaded hole that already exists. If it were the other way around, no problem, I'd die and tap it. But in my case, how do I make the hole "smaller" or the threaded valve "bigger"? Any ideas?

Partly fill the hole with JB Weld then Die & Tap that!

Your welcome - Good luck!

Seriusly? JB Weld? Huh! I would have never thought that it would harden enough to die and tap, but you guys are the experts. I'll give it a shot. Many thanks! :thumbsup

I had heard long ago to put JB Weld in the hole, put Vaseline on the threads of the new valve and put that in the hole. Let it dry then the hole should now have the right threading. I've never done this so I have no idea if it would work.

I've known guys who have used it to fix cracked engine blocks. Trust me, it'll be more than strong enough to die and tap. If the two part glue is too messy for you, you can get JB Weld in putty form too.
