Premiere Props - Hollywood Extravaganza X

I can't believe that the Mark English forgery just went for $800!!!! Wow!

Edit:didn't sell.

Most of the stuff isnt selling above $1000. There are loads of things being passed over because of reserve. There doesnt seem to be the interest in stuff. I think the screenused auction just announced and the economy had an impact.

I am considering whether to consign my Rollerball Helmet with PP. Based on the Bane mask result I think it would do quite well.

I want it to go to auction. Propstore doesn't do auctions, SU don't like to take items that have been on Your Props or shown off on forums.

:eek REALLY?!? I have never heard that but, if true, that is really disappointing to hear. I have always had a lot of respect for Desi and SU, and while they are welcome to run their company as they seem fit, that seems awfully discriminatory and would make me not want to ever sell through them. Can anyone confirm this is indeed their stance?

Wow... I can't remember what RPF member also has one of these promotional Bane masks, but you have to be feeling pretty good right now...

$10,250.

In the buildup for the bidding the promoter was very clear saying this is a "screen used... used in the movie mask. - This is an actual screen mask. - This is the real thing." They were exceedingly clear that this is one of the original pieces used in the film and worn by Tom Hardy and said it has all the provenance to prove it. They even stopped the bidding to reiterate this.

That was me. I got mine for half of that. Granted it didn't get a chance to go to auction as I hit the BIN.

Mine is identical to this one down to the exact same case. Well except not so sure I have the provenance they are claiming. I do have a letter but its in German.

I just heard the auction host describe a sword (Lot #239 or #240), as used in the original "The Munsters" television series.

He said something to the effect of, (I am paraphrasing this), you can tell what episode it was used in.

If that's the case, why doesn't (I believe the answer is obvious :rolleyes) Premier Props state the episode and support their statement with proof ?

I am honestly very reserved about bidding as well given my previous experience with getting my items from them, but I am very interested to watch, as an observer at the prices a few of these pieces will bring.

I was going to say after watching all you guys wait til hell froze over to get your stuff you'd all have to be nuts to try again good prices or not lol. This place just gives me a bad vibe. Prop Store just feels more legit looking at how they do things.

I can't believe what I just heard in the live auction feed just a moment ago regarding lot #294.

The host just said This figure of Lara Croft/Angelina Jolie is anatomically correct. How do I know? That's my job.

Classy...

After everything you have witnessed and rolled eye icons at...what are you expecting...lol.

Say what??? SU doen't like to take things that have recently been put up for sale on various forums and Ebay and DID NOT SELL. To my knowledge they have no policy against stuff that has simply been shown off.

You mean "rolled eye icon" Mark. I used that icon once in my posts here. :) . <-----This is the wink icon by the way.

Notwithstanding icons used, I expect an auction house to be professional, fairly accurate (of course every single auction house has made errors, as we all do in life), to remove items that have been proven inauthentic (with an emphasis on the word proven, not speculated from armchair experts without that proof), and to ship items in a timely manner.

Premier Props appears to be repeating many of the same mistakes over and over. I don't think that's funny or acceptable.

I was really upset by this comment and the thought that ScreenUsed wouldn't take an item that had been shown off on a site like ours, so I went straight to Desi to get clarity on this situation. I am going to paraphrase (with his permission) what Desi said.

Desi explained that ScreenUsed will not accept an item that has "just recently" been posted for sale on a message board, on ebay, in another auctions, especially if it is an item that has failed to sell and the price has been dropped several times. Essentially, ScreenUsed doesn't want your leftovers and doesn't want to spend time promoting something that has already made the rounds, especially if it has been done very recently.

This is quite different from what was originally posted, and I can't blame Desi at all for taking this approach as it only makes good business sense on their part and ensures that they don't end up with a reputation of simply recycling everyone else's leftovers and low-end pieces.

Anyway, just wanted to share that bit of info as the initial post made it seem like something else entirely.

Better do something about it then. Maybe write a blog post about it...or set up a competing business that does the same thing but better.

Personally I'm voting with my computer off button. Goodnight all.

Actually Im going to back up my bro here and say that Daniel has had a few problems recently offering really nice things to certain auction houses who either don't return his emails (Profiles, which this isnt the first time I've heard with consigners) or don't seem interested and Im not 100% sure what SU said to Dan but maybe he can tell us. I don't think he would say that off hand without having first hand experience.

I do think that certainly I have had experiences where people turned there nose up and said no thanks, or just didnt contact me back...nate d saunders is a great example who were emailing me every day, and once they had the list never heard from them again. Christies and Bonhams are notorious about that too.

Im not the first person who has made the link between being on yourprops and people not being as interested. Everyone wants to own the thing that seems "not to have been known about" but I do think that ignoring an item because its just been on the MPF doesnt mean you shouldnt look at it based on its merits.

Crud...I said I was switching off and now you have me writing paragraphs..lol.

No need to look for a fight with me now that Mark has signed off for the evening.

What the deuce!!!! lol.

Going to make one last effort to bring this back on track by removing the pointless back and forth between myself and MPC.

Keep it on track.
