Predators - Royce Costume

Heeheehee, I just went into the living room for the first time (got home very late last night and went right to bed) and I see Art has his Royce on a mannequin sitting on one of the tables and it looks absolutely fantastic!

This?

I love how freaked out people get by costume mannequins! I've got one that alternates between Captain Rex and Boba Fett... folks always jump when they go up stairs!

LOL! Yeah, we have a full Spartan with spear standing in the corner of the bedroom. You'd think it would freak us out from time to time but now. Now if it was a Predator or Alien, might be a different story :lol

That´s an awesome replica outfit Art! I hope mine ends up as good as yours!
I made some meausrements from pictures and I made some drawings of the pouch and those are 7.5 x 3.5, not 3 as stated on 3gungear. Is there any chance you could post the width and depth of the drum Art?

The AA-12 drum is 2 5/8" X 6.5".

You might be right. Once I am caught up from Comic Con (huge backlog) I can try to take a photo of the 3gungear pouch to match a movie still and we can see what we think.

Thank you Art! I think the pouch should be near 3.5" deep, not 3".

Just another note. For Comic Con I used 4 zip ties to hold the 3gunsgear AA-12 drum pouch to the belt, but didn't like how they looked or how they held the pouch to the belt. I picked up a pack of Blackhawk Coyote Brown #5 Speed Clips afterwards and two of those hold the pouch on the belt perfectly. Just thouht it was worth noting. You can generally pick them up in 6 packs on Amazon.

If I cut the shemagh in four parts and then roll it and put around the neck, I will not be able to tie it. That´s how thick my neck is ...:cry
And just for fun, here is a color tweak I made to emulate the green patina on the film.

Holy cow! You must be a big big dude!

In your case, you should just be able to cut the one square you plan to use larger (it will leave you with no other squares, but you only need one) and you till still be able to roll it so the right part is showing.

Yes, that´s a really good idea. If I want to use the vest, I have to completely loose the straps and attach the shoulder pads at the very end of the tab. For me this is an almost "only for display" replica.

I don't have quite that problem, but I am certainly not the same size as Adrian Brody. Clearly, he is an incredibly short guy, or at least has a very short torso. I have a long torso and it annoys me to no end that I can't wear the vest pulled up as high as he does. The way he wears it gives a very specific look at the neck, and there is no way for me to accomplish that because when I do, the bottom of the vest and the belt ride up around the midline of my stomach. When I have it on display, I adjust the shoulder tabs so it is right, but when I am wearing it, I have to give it more length.

BTW, wanted to ask... have you been convinced yet that the pants are blue? I have been watching more and more of the movie and the more I watch the more convinced I am that they are indeed blue and not grey (although even my blue pants read somewhat grey in some pics).

About the pants, to be honest, the first impression I had when I saw the first picture of Royce, the one that made me to buy the flashbang pouches, was that they were grey.

Then more pictures surfaced and they looked more with a bleiush tint. (Also note that the boots look blueish too)

Predators has a heavy color/contrast correction. We both own the Condor vest, we know it´s real color and along the movie we see different colors in different scenes. Perhaps the pants are dark grey or faded black, but I think you went on the right direction with the fire navy for screen look. Your outfit looks spot on.

After picking up a several slings, many of which were pretty close, I think I have finally found one with which I can be happy.

hello, im new here and have been reading what u gentlemen have been writing, i myself have not been able to find those shell panels either and love what you have done! is there a way i could make or buy those?

welcome to the board chetk!
If you look earlier in the thread is a list of links Art compilated of the gear needed to complete the costume. The closer panels to buy are from 3gungear.com. Not completely accurate, but close enough.

By the way, I´ve just recieved my Tops Steel Eagle, and I have to say I´m REALLY REALLY HAPPY!!!:) What surprised me is how heavy is the handle.
