didn't see anyone make any mention of this. But in the trailer, the little scene with "Morpheus" crawling on the dirt under what looks like some flooring....in his left hand is some type of lamp or flashlight....and in his right.....a BIO!!! Pretty good shot of it to if you freeze it and its a true to the bone P1 bio looks like. Wonder if he yanked it from the "captured" P1 style pred.

I am all for practical use of CGI, but I think CGI plasma caster blasts look retarded. The sparking ball looked real in the earlier movies, they should build off of that with a minimal effect, not some warping hyper detailed sphere of energy. Also using cgi for the cloak could be done well, but not if you use a fully cgi predator puppet like they did in AVP:R, it moved like some ridiculous loony toon cartoon, terrible physics. And the stupid massive sound of it jumping and slamming into the ground, it was pure crap. When the Predator leaps down in predator 2 as Danny Glover blasts his way through the wall, that was a great practical shot that didn't break the 4th wall or look like wires were being used.

Yes of course, that probably is the only CGI use in this movie,I really like the "In camera" approach it could really make or break this movie

We all HOPE this movie will be good, but there is no way of knowning. It certainly looks like it will be a good film but we have to wait and see.

agreed, this movie is gonna be insane!! and please, i don't mean to stop anyone from stating what they want outta this, but i feel like we should all just sit back and enjoy the ride!! 'cause "it is what it is" and what it "isn't" is just some new perception, or re-imagining (like AVP), say what you wan't about the designs, but "they are what they are" so i guess inside i decided early on to except them, even try to embrace them, and trust me, it has helped, cause from just those first pics we got, they needed it! but i just can't wait for some continuation on what goes on in the universe where the predators WE all love, exist, (not that "other" universe, with those "other" predators, no offense wolfie) and it's not even just a continuation, but an elaboration on my personal favorite movie of all time!!! (which excites me greatly
sure they seam to all have one armblade instead of two, and their tactics are really different from our classic, and there will always be gripes with any movie, i even have one or two about the first predator (*reader gasps!*) but i still think it's gonna be just as fun to discover all these new things about these other preds as the first one, still very seperately, but in a sense like "seeing it all again, for the first time" while still honoring the original in a big way!! who could ask for more?! (uh... blah, better designs, better story, better this, better that,ya ya,ya) i still think, even those of us who read the "leaked script", can't even imagine how cool this is gonna be, or what is in store for us, i seriously get the feeling of some epic-ness comin' along these other, very different, preds are fine by me, every time i look at 'em their armor and just overall look grow on me more and more, so hopefully, eventually, the rest of you will have the same thing happen, and by opening weekend we can all generally be equally excited, and ready to see these "new preds" rip some ******' HEADS OFF!! with open arms, and minds

Now that I think about it aside from the predator yelling in AVP during the flash back scene there hasnt been any good head ripping or any at all.I mean aside from the originals which for the time looked pretty damn good.

I also agree that is this new movie Trophies should be taken. In the P1 movie that Predator took a trophy almost every kill, cmon we need to see that again. As for the Bios they are growing on me as time goes by but the more I look at this Pred-dog I'm skeptical on the use of this creature during the film.

one thing ive seen on this forum for years is the intolerance towards any "new" pred designs.back when AVP came out people were all upset at the football players size ,the giant blades and then they didnt like this and didnt like that.in AVP-R i think that the Wolf pred was close enough to the original to please alot of people.
reason i bring this up is because we know that the preds have a home world and lets face it,they arent all gonna look the same or be the same size or wear the same armor on the whole planet.
this is a mistake i believe Star Wars takes to the extreme.if you seen an alien in SW,its assumed that every single alien like it is the same.same clothes,same armor,same job,same everything.
I personally like the idea of many many different preds.the more the better.i think i can stomach pretty much any pred design they can come up with.nobody on this planet wears the same thing,why expect them to as well.
im thinkin this movie could be great if they will have fun with the preds and somehow capture the magic of the original films.

Thats EXACTLY what they are trying to do - capture the thrill of the original movie with all new Predators. Very differently designed Preds, but in the same type of tense environment that P1 was filmed in.

Well at least for me I can deal with different designs when it comes to the armor and body of the predators and its great to see new stuff! I just don't like it when they changed there face like in AVP I really disliked the way it came out I know others liked the new design of the head in AVP but I just couldnt deal with it.
But I just didn't like it at all when they mess with the design of the mandibles, jaw, etc etc or head shape way to much it just starts becoming something else, other creature at least for me. it seems so far that knb efx is going for a more P1 head design then something like in AVP I don't mind the rest changing and adding new stuff.

Yes can we please just agree on this they are trying to capture the suspense/thrill of the first Predator movie,hence the jungle setting for example
