PREDATORS - MOVIE INFO

Wow..some surprises in the casting ..I like it...not as predictable as I thought it could be as far as characters are concerned. Brody is a fine actor and will be able to pull off the role..and while I hated Grace cast as Venom, his role in Predators sounds more suited for him. Loving the updates...maybe I should start asking around a bit more out here in H-wood ..see what I can dig up

Been posted several times in the thred David but thanks :D

Man im in pred overload, quick someone gimme something to sculpt grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Thought so, Lee.

But I was not planning to read the 549 reply's :D

Something to sculpt? How about a torso that goes with that nice pair of legs of yours... Well I mean those P1 legs.

Im really starting to not like the super pred thing, but otherwise im optimistic for the most part.

I'll see this movie of course, but this plot has basically exactly been done in tons of B-flicks for years. They only changed the generic bad guys into Predators this time.

As far as commenting on Predator 'dogs', the Sand People in Star Wars had their own type of 'dogs' as well, shown in Episode 2, and they really weren't like our "earth dogs" so the Predator dogs would likely be something like that or the dog type creatures from the prison in Chronicles of Riddick.

*****....a super black pred? Is this guy gonna be like a walking tank? Freakin plasma casters on every joint and clad in solid armour? LOL. OH man, the casting news is good other than the guy thats playing the pred. His bulk and overall size just "looks" like their going back to the walking tank preds from the first AVP. I know that they said they are staying true to the original but so did the last two guys who did this.....guess we'll really see come next July. I WANT ON-SET PICS!!!! LOL

KPH

All we need now is Mary-Ann and Ginger and we've got a PAAAARTAAAAYYYY! That's really why they're filming in Hawaii! After all, where did the S. S. Minnow take off from on their three hour tour???

just found this,we might know this news already...if using the link?you have to scroll down a little,New 'Predator' Film To Star...Adrien Brody? 14 Comments Posted 2 days ago - By Joseph Baxter

The upcoming installment of the Predator franchise, called Predators, seems to have found its star. Is it some 6' 7" troglodyte with bulging biceps who can snap a man's neck with his toes? Not quite. The new face of the Predator franchise is....Adrien Brody, the Oscar-winning star of The Pianist. -- Yes, THAT Adrien Brody.

Some details were recently released about the film, which will be based on a script by Robert Rodriguez and directed by newcomer, Nimród Antal. It will take place on the never-before-visited homeworld of the Predators themselves. The toughest and meanest humans on Earth are kidnapped and taken to the planet, which serves as a giant game preserve where Man is hunted for sport by the dreadlock-sporting, technology-cheating warrior species. The group of humans will be portrayed by Alice Braga, Danny Trejo, Walton Goggins, Oleg Taktarov, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, and Louiz Ozawa.
According to the reports, Brody's character, who is a "mercenary who tries to keep his team alive when its members are hunted by the aliens," is seemingly the de facto leader of this upstart group. He is also described as "a character close to the one that Arnold Schwarzenegger did in the 1987 original." Surely enough, the team will likely find surviving each other to be just as difficult a task as avoiding the Predators. (We call that "chemistry," folks.)

I guess we have a rather obvious question with which to work: Can Adrien Brody pull off the role of "action star?" Unless you consider 2005's King Kong or various police/detective dramas as action films, Brody, for all his accolades, is rather untested in this genre. I'm not going to say that he doesn't "have the right look" as that often has to do with our preconceived perceptions based on previous roles. (If Brody had started in action, we obviously would not be asking these questions, regardless of his look.)

If anything, this will only serve to boost the credibility of the film. I don't know about you, but the prospect of seeing an Oscar winner the caliber of Brody (in the jungle, presumably) with a huge-a** machine gun, shooting up aimlessly, blowing s**t up, while dramatically screaming in the air, is enough to pique one's curiosity. There's something very poetic about a mainstay of pretentious Oscar-fodder agitprop, loosening up the tie and following in the footsteps of The Governator and Sly Stallone.
http://g4tv.com/thefeed/blog/tags/170/movies.htmlthe cheek of them saying that the predator is a dreadlock-sporting, technology-cheating warrior species.is if........

As for Mears...I will give him a shot. Whos to say he dosent lean out like Ian White did for AVPR. If hes true to his role it wouldnt surprise me if he dropped the pounds to fit the look the fans want.

Gonna give the movie another chance.I thoght brody was good in king kong but what about a super pred?If there is one I think we can expect AVP style.
