Predators 2

A few years back the hack Rodriguez talked about a sequel, this time totally based on his ridiculous early script (pred bikes, preds taking a piss on a human prisoner, four armed pred mutants, preds trading slaves with humans equipped with a pred-human language translator device, etc....)

I guess in a normal world Mctiernan , Silvestri , Joel Silver and Winston studio would 've ignored" Predators" like Rodriguez ignored "Predator 2" (stating that Predator 2 was crap in the process )

and make the true Predator 3, based on Predator 2 outstanding ending.

But It's not a normal world, is it ?

I may be wrong but I believe Nimrod Antel is a prime reason for the script change. I think Rodriquez himself said that it would have ended up like Avatar [which I am glad Antel changed it].

Rodriguez might have said that he ignored Predator 2 intentionally, but he could have also had his own version of a sequel. I don't think the world is UN-normal for liking the new Berzerker's or the movie. Would I have changed some things as far as the "look" of the new Berzerkers? Yes. I didn't like the lack of quills, depending on which view of the head it looks completely different [the Hot Toys one looks even different], I was up and down as far as the netting goes, and the lower mandibles.

As far as "true" Predator movies go. Are we going to see something like the original or the original sequel? No. I don't believe anyone could have done it better or do it better today. Is it nice to see the Predator universe expand? In my opinion, yes.

actually Alex Litvak and Michael Finch were called in to revise the RR script ..all based on a script called Midieval they optioned earlier. Look for the pair as the writers of Grayskull ..the new He-Man flick

Whatever happens and whenever it comes out I just hope it has more 1-on-1 time with the watcher and the Predators while they are interacting with there gear or treating a wound or cleaning a trophy or stalking its prey.

Just to echo what Tatsu said, Rodriguez is going to do a second Predators film with director Nimrod Antal. Not sure when because I believe he's wrapping up another Spy Kids movie. I strongly believe Adrian Brody is going to come back as Royce and I imagine that Alicia Braga will come back as Isabella. I believe that it won't be called "Predators 2", but more perhaps, for example: "Predators: redemption" or something like that.

Hopefully, it'll be called 'Predator Wars' or something similiar and explore in more depth the two waring factions ( breeds ) of Preds we saw in the last film.

We've only really got what Noland says in his deranged ramblings to go on. The man had gone crazy, and couldn't know all that was going on in the Predators' world.

I see three (or rather four) franchises:
-Predator, Predator 2
-Predators (which is more of a spin-off than a sequel)
-Aliens versus Predator, AVP-R (please bin this till you have the guts and the funds to do it right and epic)
-Alien, Aliens, Alien3, Alien: Resurrection

Prometheus remains to be seen.

I don't see any problem with having both the Predators line continue and having another, true-er to predator lore stand-alone film.

I agree with you, i have always said that i would love to see a pred vs pred movie without the story line focusing more on humans. It would be nice to see something that involves an actual pred planet and goes more in depth on predator clans.

The way Predators ended left me wondering... on that whole "game" planet... those 3 Predators were the only ones there ? They couldn't be, because someone had to be dropping the new crates at the end right ?

And as far as ignoring Predator 2, It really makes no difference if you ignore it or not, there are tons of different predator stories, different places, planets, etc... so I dont see the problem there.

Although now that Arnold is going back to acting... could reprise his role...

If any of you are on AVP galaxy you would have seen a while back that someone was speculating that fox would rather choose to rest abd reboot the franchise again in a couple tears rather than attept a sequel..

Predators was and is crap. Shame on me for owning the DVD. If a sequel is made I hope it's good this time...

MY plot for it(just my idea) SPOILER ALERT: so the new preds landing at the end of predators are landing.While Royce and Isabella hide.The parachutes open,out comes the classic breed Predators and other life forms.Then brand new humans are falling from the sky Royce and Isabella sneak past them going for the humans.When the humans land they tell them whats going on.They all freak out and then get prepared for the war.So anyway skip to later on the last of the life forms are Royce and Isabella(of course),a secret lifeform,Regular Preds and Super Preds and they fight for their lives and then while they are all distracted the secret ones come XENOMORPHS!!!!!!!!So then the two species of preds team up to fight the Aliens while the humans get away to the ship,the Super Preds see it and throw the Regular preds to the Aliens and run after the humans.Then Royce and Isabella get to the ship,while Royce figures out the controls he tells Isabella to hide while finding a gauntlet blade,then a few seconds after,Royce is mysteriously thrown out of the ship.Then the three super preds come visible and all gang up on Royce then Two surviving regular Predators that are horribly battle damaged from the Aliens come in and take out the first two Super Preds and then run away into the darkness.Then Royce Extends the gauntlet blade and the remaining Super clan leader and him have an epic battle with Royce barely winning with help of Isabella.Royce then limps into the ship finally able to get home.That was my made up plot

I know alot of Predator fans were let down with Predators, but it was a step in the right direction. After the complete train wreck that was AVP and AVP Requiem we were lucky to get the Studio to green light a 'Predator sequel' at all. Sure it was similar to the first one in ways ie a group of badass mercs being hunted but with a twist, however they had to get a movie to make money in order to get another one made.
So I for one am stoked to hear any news of a sequel and what they could do with it

I personally love any and all pred movies, comics, figures, everything so i would be stocked to hear any news of this.

I like the concept of AVP - I thought that the link to the mayan/aztec era and it laying dormant under the ice 100's of years was brilliant. And the idea of Aliens fighting predators was the equivalent of Jackie Chan fighting Jet Lee in The Forbidden Kingdom (in which was cracking). They were really on the ball with AVP and then buggered it by making a Predator 2 re-make with a hint of Alien which was AVP-R.

Don't get me wrong, I love all the Predator and Alien films plus the end of AVP-R helps in linking the all predator films and lines us up for Predators. But I think a Predators 2 film would be fantastic.
