OMG!!! this is for far one of the best thread ever!!! Lee, i'm from chile in southamerica and i'm here since 2007 but always in the shadows learning and watching, i'd like to thank you for posting all your process it is really a great help for us the noobs, sadly some of the pics are lost.. can you please put them back? or there is anybody who has all the pics so far? i don´t want to miss any pics at all of this beautifull and so very, very well explained work
congrants!!!
the master Winstom is watching you and guiding your hands man, ho yes it is!!!...
keep up the amazing work..!!!

and please forgive my tarzan english...!!
cheers.!

Ive had to move the pictures to a new folder on PB as it was cluttrd up, ( you may have to refresh the pages a few times ) i have replaced as many as i had, but it seems ive lost a fair few. Also people who linked to my photos, their links are broken now.

anyway ive reinstalled everything i currently have.

Sulaco.

I will try and relink the pictures for you ;)

Glad you liked the thred.

Usurper!
you are the man!! thanks, so much!
but still there are some pics lost, specially the ones that envolves the moulding process... i'm really interested on see how the hell do you made the cast of the sculpt... it is very important to me cause i want to watch, and learn, and learn, before i put my hands in any piece of clay... i'm a poor man you know, here in the ass of the world the fu##%ing clay is so freaking expensive!!

another question, do you made the sculpt in water based clay? cause in my country oil based clay is so difficult to find, so if you can give some advice regarding the water clay it i'll be great.
i did make a sculpt of a SW tropper once in water based clay but it fall in to pieces, i think cause the clay went dry.

again thanks for the help and for showing your work process, to the world, you wouldn't beleive how important and usefull it is.
thanks, again.

peace.

ps: the pics in my avatar is a helmet and armor from a sci-fi soldier, part of a movie that i'm making and is one of my works, what do you think?

I did not show pictures of the head mould as i forgot to take photos, only the teeth moulds were linked to.

I used Oil based clay because i sometimes did not work on the sculpt for days, and i was worried about it drying out, but water based clay is fine and alot quicker to work with i think as it is softer.

your armour looks good by the way.

ok! thanks a lot.
i'll try to find the damm oil based clay!! i think it will be better cause like you i'll be several days without working on it..

see ya and thanks again!!!

Small update.

BUT

HUUUUUUUUUUUG thing for me.

Ill let the video do the talking, but needless to say , if i can make the rest ill be one happy bunny.

EDIT. crap forgot to upload video, post it asap.

Sorry i got alittle ahead of myself.

here ya go.

dreaded video.

Oh its not a shameless plug for the rebreather either, it will become clear what i made today after a few seconds.

lol yeah the title is puntended.

I know they are white but i wanted to see if i had it correct before i stared messing about with foam pigments, i have made myself a single mould for now, so i am going to see how many that produces before its looses its properties, then i may think about making a few batches up, with multiple moulds.

i think i have enough foam to finish my P2 ( at long bloody last ) and i have to say it feels good to be bale to make the dreds that will finish him.

oh and the dreads are single seemed, ( seem down one side only ) and they have a texture, as i tried to show in the video, but ill paint one up later and take a photo

Well from where im sat the dreds look like they move authentically and hang down very nicely. Its great to see someone else tackling these "Gucci" items. Congrats, they look great.

Heres a couple of pictures, hopefully you can see the seem and the texture, then my 1st pigmented dred, which looks more silvery black in real life ( no idea why, im thinking the pigment i used is not designed for foam hehe )
it seems to be black under the skin which has a silvery look to it, pretty good base for elder dreds.

Il try one more with alittle more black in it, then if its the same ill have to get some proper pigment hehe, im not fussed at present as all icare about is i can make my own dreds for P2
